As a way to push people away from using CQ, CCP have added a VERY LOUD voice narration of Scope videos while in the CQ.
Even at the end of the walkway, away from the screen, the audio can be loud.

Please give us an option to turn the screen audio on/off or a volume slider please.

For the love of god, turn it off. I actually like using CQ every once in a while. It plays the same two reports over and over again, which are months old and useless.

You could always do what CCP wants here, and not use the CQ.

You can replace the videos on the screen. CCP released a dev blog a few years ago about it. It seems pretty easy to do and I am in the middle of converting a video to try it out now. I vaguely recall a few people posting screenshots around the time of the dev blog showing off how easy it was and how good their videos were. A couple of them actually weren't porn Big smile.

Edit: Well it works. I am currently watching the Deceived trailer for SWTOR on my TV in my Captains Quarters.

The support page in the link below details where to find your cache folder to put the CQScreenVideos folder into:

Hey CCP, I know someone over there probably worked really hard to have these Scope videos play in my quarters, but could you, ya know, have them turn it off? Please? It's getting to the point that I want to strangle mister Haveri.

Sauce.

I have actually done this in the past, but there was a change to the video file/location settings or whatever, and just never bothered to try it again.

Point is, this feature is annoying, buggy and not necessary.

Exactly. I actually have to mute EVE now or leave the CQ because it's just not possible to concentrate on market orders or other "list management" with this completely pointless jabber in the background.

This completely baffles me. Who at CCP thought this was a good idea?! Is this from the inventor of the kill GONG, perchance?

I agree. Please CCP - let us turn this off. Either that or at least get him to pronounce the word 'consortium' correctly. It's making me wince

Hi all

Trick with custom videos worked nicely. In fact i placed in that folder SWTOR videos aswell, coz they are in the next to eve folder )))

For today, Win10 x64, the path for custom videos looks as follows:

C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\d_eve_tranquility\cache\CQScreenVideos\

Just place *.bik videos there, restart game and they will play(Screenshot proof). With sound. However, after each "movie" there still will be "breaking news" with narration :)

Of course, i vote for option to mute TV :)

Good luck CCP, and fly safe, friends.
