Remote Repping - Changed?

It used to be that a RR could assist a.n.other in battle w/o being attacked themselves by the target of the ship they are RR'ing. SOmeone told me the other day that this has changed since Crucible. I can't find anything definitive on the subject.

Can anyone clarify the issue for me please?

Remote repping someone has always made you a valid target to anyone currently aggressed to that person.

Thanks Liang. Just to clarify one more point; Would a killmail include a remote repper who didn't actually take part in any aggression towards the person killed?

And btw, your 'Failing In So Many Ways...' is quite entertaining. Cool.

No, you don't appear on killmails and its one of the primary reason Liang's killboard record is so sparse. I've spent several years in logi ships (check out 'Losing ships in Amamake' for when I actually lost my deadspace Basi).

Also: thanks!

I believe that the change with Crucible (maybe a bit before) was that your reps would deactivate in high sec if the person you were repping aggressed on another player. This was in order to fix something seen as a problem where incursion logis were being blown up after someone would knowingly aggress another player in order to transfer aggression to the logistics ship. At least I think that's the reason for the change.

Works for remote sebos and tracking comps too. Means you can have your alts boosting you and you don't have to worry about them taking concord aggro because all their mods will deactivate. At least, so I hear. I personally don't suicide gank often... and don't have any characters that could really get into high sec to do it in such a manner anyway.

Ok, I get it now, thanks guys.

Liang, I saw the 'Losing Ships in Amamake' thread before. I should have put two and two together I suppose, lol. And that Rook pilot? Gotta hand it to him, knew his stuff. Keep up the good work on the blog fella', it's a very welcome and inspiring read. With no small amount of humility too. Which is somewhat rare in this testerone charged game we play.

You could always just run a single rep-cycle on the primary to get on the km? Roll

(Note: I do not do this lol).

IIRC, the usual option is to fit a civilian weapon for killmails.

A t1 light drone also works if your highs are full for some reason (drone bay-less ships excluded)
