I was just watching a Dota2 tournament and that ofc made me want to watch eve tournaments, but while I was doing that I realized that for a non eve player eve would be terribly hard to get into or even understand what is going on. How would a non eve player ever understand the dynamics that are in play when fighting in eve? I'm certain that if they did understand eve would become the #1 game for professional gaming

So my idea is to have a specific program that ppl use to watch eve tournaments called, ESP (Eve spectating Program) which would allow them access to all the information we the players have access to. i.e Market stats, ship stats, player stats, eve map stats, etc. It would be a game in and of itself to spectate. This would give birth to many youtube commentators which will make the viewer feel very elite for being able to understand the most complex game in the world imo.

This idea is so CCP. No company likes risk and being the first like CCP. They've already got the architecture Eve Online. All they have to do is shave off the input commands and rework the launcher to work on smart phones and the like. Really vote this up or make new threads to someone at ccp sees it. I want to see Eve as the number one professional game on earth in the next 5 years.

Twitch already does this.

Also... there is a reason that few people (and never a cohesive fleet) in EVE use Twitch; it gives away precious intel that can mean the difference between life and death.

Don't get me wrong... your intention is good. But your idea would be a HUGE buff to hunter-killer players.

ESP is not EvE Spectator Program. It is EvE Spy Program.

Yeah you guys are right about that, but what if it were just for tournaments? Like you watch them inside the ESP program and have access to all the public info we as players have like, the market and info on all the times that can be used. Also pilots have the option to allow access to watch them. In return that pilot would get a percentage of the money ccp makes off the very low price of membership or revenue ccp gets from ad sales.

It is very much like Twitch only with access to all the stats and module/ship info. All in a very sleek viewer interface. It would be a bit like baseball where everything a player does is kept track of and viewers can really immerse themselves in the complexity going on during a fleet engagement.
