New Camera

Hi

Can we have the option to turn off the new Camera and all its settings and go back to the "Classic" ??? I have tried to make it as close to the old one but cant even come close, am nto enjoying the new camera at all.

Why would you even ... hooboy. You didn't see the Apollo astronauts begging for that Mercury-style capsule, did you?

As long as the tale of the hunt is told by the hunter, and not the lion, it will favor the hunter.

Took me a huffy couple of minutes to get the camera pretty much the same as it used to be, with a sharper 'snap to' when it comes to tracking camera. Nice.
Not being able to zoom and pan around while zoomed is lame. Why in the world would i need to zoom in to the center of a model and nothing else? I've taken screenies of turrets in action, killmarks, but this rigid zoom-no-pan option limits angles for capturing images.

At the moment you still can turn it off. I wonder for how long that will last though.

but apollo astronauts had better cameras than mercury capsules.
in this case, its more like we've taken the modern spacecraft and fit mercury style capsules to them and called it an upgrade.

Also, why is the zoom in stations reversed?
why cant i pan anymore?

and most of all:

have you ever tried putting your camera behind your ship, so you can doubleclick in a very specific direction? well, thats made exceptionally hard with the new camera. It seems you really need to jerk the mouse around before the camera is willing to move side to side, which means its extraordinarily hard to adjust the position to a precise angle

I have managed to untick "Try the New camera" i feel i can play and use the game again now "hate the new camera"

while i didn't like the new camera at first you can indeed set it up to work kinda like the old one. except for the "look at" option everything feels kinda the same.

all you do is uncheck every single checkbox in the camera options and set the zoom thingy to stiff.

Further to my last post, i've since worked out how to use the 'look at' option in a similar way to the old camera.
Seems we can look at things on grid from further than 100km away and alt-zoom with some different mouse tricks lets you pan around to look at details.
It's actually a little better than old camera, just different controls.

Turn ALL the camera options off in the menu.

Click the orbital view TWICE (the second time disables the offset and puts the ship directly in front of what you are looking at.

Then press shift+C or conbtrol+C, its some damn button over there and the letter C lol. that turns the auto look on and will focus on things you click in the overview.

Excuse the piggy back, but has anyone gotten the Center UI offset option to work on the new camera? I have my client stretched across 2 monitors and the UI stays centered with the new camera on.

Left click in the middle of your cap display and drag the ui where you want it.

How do I get the new camera to stop changing my zoom levels when I warp or undock?

You'll have to learn to deal with it sooner or later, so why postpone it?

Also the new camera isn't bad in any regard.

Esc, general settings tab. bottom left side. uncheck new camera.
