If the jove are goneish, what about releasing battle damaged jovian ships. Comparable to factiion ships. So we could fly sexy ships, without much extra designing work fromCCP

Since seeing a jove industrial 10 years ago ive wanted one!

You couldn't take it. The advanced jovian tech would fry your primitive implants and your brain in a second when you try to connect your capsule to it ;)

With the Drifter storyline evolving, i think we will see some more jovian stuff in the future. But i don't think they will ever be given out to players. Even a heavely damaged Jovian ship would be ridiculously overpowered. It would be very lazy from ccp to crush the lore completely just to save some time to create a new ship model.

This and Jovian ships are godlike powerful compared to what capsuleers are currently flying. It would be impossible to balance.
However, as I love the lore of EVE, it would be awesome with more Jove activity in the near future.

Which is kind of unlikely if you have read the Testament chronicle. Apparently, the Jove are in the process of completely withdrawing themselves from this cluster.

With regards to the ships: What is the point of flying a Jovian hull design with stats equal to a standard ship? Just the looks? You are just after the looks and willing to delude and ruin the experience that the Jove are (supposed to be)? I truly do not envy your purblindness. It's the same with anything concerning the Jove: Just for the lols and giggles, people want to have Jove ships, Jove tech, Jove space -- without spending at least a rudimentary thought on the repercussions and consequences of this, ie. that the Jove tech would have to be deluded and fouled up beyond all recognition in order to not break the entire game balance, which in turn means that the god like Jove tech would be nothing more than the rubble that you can buy on the market today. That is ludicrous.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

We could get some down-graded Jove tech from the Society soon. The Society of Conscious Thought has now taken over the Jove-seat in CONCORD and it looks like CCP wants to do something with them.

Exactly: downgraded. That's not what Jove tech is; it nothing but a joke, a nearly invisible shadow of what that tech is supposed to be.

It would still be ideal for some fancy new ships, don't you think?

I do not see how without ridiculing anything the Jove stand for according to lore. A tiny piece of tech or a ship component to augment a ship, you say? Jove targeting systems should then make a sub cap lock beyond the 250km cap. Propulsion systems? How about a 10km m/s BC with a 10MN MWD? Even parts of their tech are immensely superior to anything we currently have, even broken components should be vastly better than current tech designs. Bruteforcing their tech into the game and deluding it down so that it fits is just wrong.

Even broken or damaged ships of the Jove should be vastly superior to anything we currently have. Even if you just sit on a hull plate of a jovian ship (like Kate and Jack in Titanic), that plate is more powerful than any frigate or destroyer. I do not see how "damaged Jove ships" would work. I do not see how much you would need to damage a jove ship to make its stats comparable to even the best pirate ships we have. In my opinion, it is not feasible without making the Jove tech look like a sad joke when you compare it to the lore descriptions.

I was talking about SOC sharing out some old, not as ultra-advanced Jove-tech, not just damaged ships. The only Jove-ship the SOC has is old, but undamaged. And they still need it for themselves, so they'll obviously not sharing that.

Jove history spans enough time the SOC could just give us ships similar to that SOC-battlecruiser we got from CCP: Looking fancy and build with "Jove-tech". It's not like we would know the difference as long as the ships are close enough to what people think Jove-ships are like.

And so both lore and game balance are upheld.
