Regarding the billboard competition -

Are we talking about real-life, foul-mouthed, alco-pop drinking, IP stealing teenagers, or the mythical corporate construct that still classifies them as basically children?

From the ESRB site : "TEEN : Content is generally suitable for ages 13 and up. May contain violence, suggestive themes, crude humor, minimal blood, simulated gambling and/or infrequent use of strong language."

They will likely go with the ESRB guideline since I assume they don't want to be bumped from T to M for example.

Games rated M (Mature) “have content that may be suitable for people over 17,” and may contain “intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content, and strong language.” According to the ESRB, games rated M could include scenes showing the mutilation of body parts, graphic references and depictions of sexual behavior, and frequent or explicit profanity in addition to graphic and realistic-looking depictions of physical conflict, extreme and realistic blood, gore, weapons, and depictions of human injury and death.

Games rated T (Teen) have content that may be suitable for kids over 13. They may contain “violence, suggestive themes, crude humor, minimal blood and the use of strong language.” Specifically, the ESRB describes violence as involving aggressive conflict; suggestive themes as mild provocative references or materials; crude humor as depictions or dialogue involving “vulgar antics including ‘bathroom humor;’” and strong language as the use of profanity.

Everything is of course a judgement call on anything borderline so HAVE FUN!!!

I think in the current neo-puritanical, transnational corporate anticultural climate, it's healthier for one's neck to err on the side of prudishness. No smoking or nudity.

Violent dismemberment is probably fine.

Yes, the puritanical ideals as implemented in modern mass media (horrific violence? Yes, yes, yes! Smoking? No, no, no!) will do wonders for this game if they ever implement WIS, as everyone and their cousin will be walking around, cybering with witless noobs while smoking a meerschaum pipe.

Ah, I think I got smoke in my eyes...

What a wonderful WiS it would be...
