EVE Launcher - Feedback and issues

I keep getting a Network error message box popping up that says "Diagnose network problems" and says an error was encountered while downloading (whatever) and asks if I want to run network diagnostics.

The problem is, this box keeps frakking popping up every couple of frakkin minutes (ever since I started using the new launcher) and there is NO way to turn it off apparently. I've tried the 3 different options (Yes, Retry, Ignore) and it makes no difference, a couple minutes later it pops up again. (The game is running fine on the 2-3 clients I have logged in at a time right now so whatever is downloading doesn't appear to be adversely affecting game play.)

The first dozen times were annoying. Now it's getting to the point where I'm just going to say screw it and uninstall this new launcher.

Don't give up just yet, give me a chance to figure out what is going on so I can fix it. Please gather up the logs from %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\Launcher, put them in Dropbox or Google Drive and send me a link in EVE Mail.

This is not normal behavior, but I need more details in order to address it.

i have one topic already about this, but will post it here, its easier when it all is together.

So I go to install the new launcher, window comes up with "Please specify where EVE Online will be installed"

How the **** am I supposed to know that?

By deciding where you want it installed. It's not asking for you to specify some secret location, it's asking you to pick where you want to install it.

I have a problem with the launcher duplicating usernames. Meaning, I type in username and password, get a list of usernames, and in that list the same username appears twice. Clicking the "X" right of the username removes all instances of that username. This problem didn't appear until last week or so.

Workarounds are not bugfixes.

GUI 1.885 has been told to display usernames only once per account list.

AWESOME.,

launcher error is now crashing the launcher.

open launcher - get certificate error, ignore - launcher just flashes and now shows nothing but the background pic.
no amount of opening closing and restarting computer helps.

NO eve again - you really think all this **** is only worth 200k sp

Ok I understand this thread had its cursory dev check for the night but I've just reinstalled the launcher and it is still the same (deleted everything in the launcher folder) and the launcher is still nothing but a head with a skill injector sticking out of it that has "please wait" at the bottom.
Does anyone know a way to get into the game without losing all my settings?

NB; I can get into SISI by using the dropdown menu - server list. but don't want to login to TQ this way as it starts as a new client with no settings.

Is there a way to force the new launcher to update (or just force what ever it is waiting for), server is back up but the launcher is stuck at "Please wait..."

Sorted.. It seems if the launcher gets stuck, selecting SISI then TQ in server selection will trigger the update.

was there an update (any kind ? ) today .. was on dev. version and after some launcher update it went bad .. so reinstalled .. in relese version and it started downloading 1.8gigs of data .. ?? ... checked from server list and i take it it was for tq ... had serval accounts logged in during the download BUT was unable to launch any new ones ?.. shoulnt there be a option for being able to launch if the downloadeble stuff is not so important .. ?

Worked until 2016.03.06. When I started the launcher it wanted an update. After the update it could no longer start EVE and produced just an error message:


Application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "windows". Reinstall may fix the problem.


I ran the repair.exe, which updated to the latest vrsion. I could then run the eve.exe to login, but the launcher still was broken (Error msg see above).

.... help, please, I guess...?!

FIXED: could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "windows"-Error

I could fix the issue by doing the following:

1. run repair tool to update to latest version
2. start game to check
3. reinstall launcher in pre-existing dir
4. Point install to the existing shared cache folder

How do I log in through steam with the new launcher? there does not appear to be an option for this. logging normally takes me back to an old, inactive character account. can this be updated permanently to avoid having to logging in though steam each time?

So does anyone else have the issue that server status no longer works in the launcher at all? Everything else works just not that.
