Jetcans keep disappearing. Inventory window auto-closes

This happened to me for the second time today. And since support no longer replies to tickets, I will just share this bug. Here is what happens:

Jettison the can, name it, bookmark it's location, have it about half full and in 3-5 minutes the can disappears and the inventory window where I have my hold and can opened disappears too.

Losing a ship to a bug/disconnect would not **** me that much, but wasting my time, filling up a damn can, which then disappears into thin air is just outrageous.

Why am I supposed to pay for this game anyway?

Are you leaving grid? It is possible someone is stealing your can....

Would you be willing to part with the stuff you didn't have in that can before you stop paying?

If the can is empty your inventory window will close, that is not a bug.

Also, they will get to your ticket, but this sounds low priority, and they will have to check the logs, so it might take a few days.

Are you new to corp mining? Chances are there is a dedicated hauler stopping in and grabbing the ore, although they should be trained to leave one stack so the can doesn't evaporate. That is most likely what is happening. Overenthusiastic hauler, I did it when I first started hauling for the corp, they kindly asked me to stop.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

Was it Veldspar? Were you mining in Amarr? Did you notice a Revelation in the belt with you?

Have you submitted an actual bug report from the Help (F12) menu ingame rather than a support ticket? A support ticket may get you reimbursed but probably won't get the problem fixed as the devs don't see them and they don't have all the logging that a bug report from the help menu has.

Mercoxit in null, with ppl I trust and the closest frigate/exhumer was 30 km away. Also, no MTUs. I tried to rule out all in-game factors that might result in closing my inventory (twice) and making my can disappear.

Why would the inventory close, if I was filling up, not emptying the can?

The inventory closes if the focus is on a can that is no longer there.

So you trust people you have been with for less the a 1/4 year, that is not smart. Especially since it looks like they are stealing from you....

Best thing you can do is probably to fit a scram and kill that hauler who is stealing from you

Reminds me of the time I found a guy repeatedly ejecting from a frigate at a safe, warping to a POS, doing ****, and warping back.

I kept renaming his ship and offlining modules. It was amusing.

Mercoxit has clouds that do AoE damage don't they? Could be this is popping your cans.

I will retry, having this in mind tomorrow. Thank you for the suggestion!

If you are getting hit by the gas cloud, you are WAY WAY WAY WAY too close to the asteroid.

I think it has a max 5 km range. Your mining lasers are double or triple that. At about 7.5 km you should be okay.

Last time I looked, Mercoxit was about as valuable as Pyerite. Keep in mind you have to normalize its price by multiplying that by 0.546 because you can't harvest Mercoxit at the same yield as the other ores.

Yep, did the maths. Just wanted to mine a bit of this ore. Bistot FTW :)
