Directional Scan Query

Morning all again,

Sorry to keep pestering you all!.

I have figured out how to filter my directional scan to just show what ships are within 14au of me.

My question is - I jumped into a low sec area and was the only one in local chat. I did a quick scan and it came up with 2 ships with personalised ship names. I presume only players can do this.

How can ships be in space but no one in local?

I got scared and jumped back lol

This is what's colloquially referred to as POS-Trash.

Pilots eject from a ship (or launch it from a Ship Maintenance Array) inside a POS shield. Anyone with the shield password can then board that ship.

If you're the only one in Local then you're the only one in the system.

To help with the d-scan, you need to enable POS Tower and Forcefield in the overview, so that your d-scan shows you the POS tower and the forcefield (if the POS is active - some aren't) along with the empty ships parked near it.

Yea, this one gets me now and then. Player lights off cyno, logs off. cyno and ship stay off station, but I'm the only one in local. Took me a while to figure out this is what was happening. I didn't think that's what was happening because I thought your ship is supposed to emergency warp out when you lose connection, but it was just sitting there on the cyno.

Ships still emergency warp on disconnect right?

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

Yes ships still E-Warp if they are able to. If there is a timer preventing logout, they will then sit at the E-Warp destination until the timer expires.

A ship that lights a cyno is not able to move or warp. If you DC/logout with a cyno lit, your ship will sit there until it is destroyed or the cyno runs out and then E-Warp.
