EVE Launcher - Feedback and issues

I keep getting logged out after a certain amount of time, whereas previously I could stay logged in for days. Is this intentional?

I haven't been able to reproduce this reliably on my end. If you could put the logs from %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\Launcher - in Dropbox or a Google Drive or something and send me the link in EVEMail I would very much like to take a look at them.

Seems the launcher decides to forget the last used account when you shutdown for the night..

As for remembering which order they appear in - I've given up on that. The order is different each time the launcher is started.

Eve launcher comment widget is advertising Join Mass Test Today, March 1. It is March 2 even UTC time, and this advertisement wasn't showing yesterday. I'm a bit miffed, was looking forward to participating in a mass test, and walking away with 2m SP, that too.

Since there is a Mar 1 Citadels, news article that is not being referenced. I'm thinking maybe the Launcher news widget is confused about the day and is always referencing an older news article in the comment widget.

The latest item in news block is CSM elections start now. There are two newer news items on the main news page http://community.eveonline.com/news/news-channels/eve-online-news/
Note that the Latest News block also make no mention of the Mass Test. Or the Citadels, Science, and Servers Oh My!

The mass test items really should have been referenced in the Latest News block. /sadface.

In addition to trying everything laid about by support and ccp dev handling the bug report. I have tried reinstalling same error. Won't touch old launcher files cause if/when that stops working I can't play eve.


I'm having same issue since last night: I get a black screen when I log in. I'm new to EVE, just a few days into my free trial account, was really enjoying it, and now I can't play?! Ugh!!!

I tried to debug the issue myself for 3 hours, submitted a ticket (no response yet), and even tried to file a bug error (but get this: the bug support system gave me an error and I could not submit the bug - lol).

Here's the details:

After launching into my account all I see is a black screen with the mouse arrow ... eventually music loads but never any graphics. I've restarted my computer, tried launching many times, and even waited with black screen for 15+ minutes ... but no luck. Tried clicking around the screen which sometimes makes music change or subtle interaction ... but still no graphics.

I had installed the launcher upgrade last night just before this happened ... So to try to solve the issue, I tried re-installing the previous launcher again (which I had saved in my downloads) ... but still the same problem.

I also went into launcher settings and did two things:

1) turned on "Run clients with logging"
2) verified the "shared cache setting" : which after the scan found "176 extra files"

But after relaunch, still no luck, same results.

Sent log file in my ticket.

Searched the web for a long time looking for a fix. Nothing.

Would really like to resolve this ...

Any insights??? I'd love to get back to playing ASAP!

Just tried submitting a bug report again (as last night) and get:

"An unexpected error occurred while submitting your bug report. Please try again later.

Try again"

that's a little extra discouraging when the bug reporter has bugs

the article was updated today, but does not make much sense:

The other day most of my accounts got wiped out from the launcher. Throwing the usual curses around, I through nothing more of it.

Yesterday I used the better part of {time measurement} to input my {classified number of accounts}, so all was good again.
Today was on TQ for a bit, then closed my TQ clients, and jumped to SISI for some testing.
Switching back to TQ on my launcher only a number of my accounts are left, the rest have been wiped.

I would appreciate the launcher keeping my accounts stored, especially for something as simple as switching from TQ to SISI and back....

Also, when you bug fix this ting. Can you also please make the launcher remember the order of the accounts, it seems to do some sort of random sorting.

Greetings fellow Capuleers!

I have been using the new Launcher for the past 2 weeks or so. I am offering feedback finally. I am not looking for complaints on pings, sso (whatever those are) and anything else. I have a suggestion, which I will give at end of this.

I love the look and feel of the new launcher. The ability to have all logins visable and be able to move them and click on which you wish to open with a few second delay etc, Wonderful features. All make running and using multiple accounts better.

I love the setting Profiles for logins. Nice also.

Thanks for the hard work in giving this to us. I appreciate it.

I followed the process of deleting the old directories and uninstalling the game, etc in control panel etc. Because I LOVED the look and way the New Launcher was working. And it did work pretty well, Untiil this last big DB upgrade.

2 Weeks ago, using the OLD system, I was rock solid. I could run how many clients at the same time I wanted or needed. There was no click on arrow to start a client, and no response. So, click again, nothing. Refresh launcher, click start, nothing. Click a different account, OK, that one opens. Then click another, and that one also opens. At which time the first one to open, closes do to some socket thing.

So, I EXIT all eve things, open Task master, verify nothing, even reboot machine if needed. Start again, verify Shared Cache files, etc and Run launcher, which opens fine. (Yes account have changed position, but I don't care) - I now select 3 accounts to open, and it seems they all three start (A box is now where arrow was on launcher). All three clients start, and character selection appears. I choose a single toon on each. 2 fail to open, some issue. One logs in and seems to be working.

So, point is. 2 weeks ago on OLD System, I was SOLID and could play EVE. Using New System, I can't. Nothing else has changed. How can I go back to the old system that actually worked? Or get back into a game I love playing.

CCP, Any thoughts?

Since I upgraded to the new launcher approx. 1 week ago.
I get nothing but Closed Sockets.
Very frustrating, trying to do missions, when you are getting logged off every 10 minutes or so.
Any help appreciated.

I was using new launcher since beta and also gave some feedback and lot of help to other players to switch to new system
but this isnt funny anymore, login issues in the last days, forgoten accounts in the launcher, list of

ccp sry i have to say it GET YOUR STUFF WORKING! i dont no where is the problem
but on our end of this we see there must be big problems in qualitiymanagement or/and not enough DEVtime in this projekt to get it running

as i saw i cant install the launcher in "\EVE & Co\Launcher" next to my eve because of ??? i was not amused
as i had to read in the betathread the launcher could whipe full disk while installed in root i was shocked
and now its not even beta anymore and i am bit upset^^

Nice, CCP has found another way to limit online time.
The launcher is now just giving 1 error after another, no amount of restarting my computer or the launcher helps, it just gives (a different) error code each time I try to lon in to the game.

This is one of the many error codes I have received

Launch the new beaut Launcher - It starts fine (aside from the annoying certificate error) then as soon as I click to log in one of my accounts it just goes into meltdown mode.

Login Problem
There was a problem logging into xxxxx, please try again. Over and over again.


I won't bother submitting a support ticket - With the current 5 to 10 day delay getting a response it is hardly worth it.
Still waiting (6 days so far) for a response about one of my ships that isn't doing what it is supposed to according to its bonuses.


NB; The old launcher is giving the same errors as the new.. At least we are being consistent.

And I tried again. It has now been more than 30 minutes since I first tried to log in.

For a staggering 15 euro a month, you are one of the more expensive MMOs out there. It is obvious that higher subscription fee does not automatically mean better stability/quality.

The socket was closed. An entire day of downtime and no compensation seen as of yet (free skillpoints? That's equivalent of no compensation at all).


Extended downtimes. Emergency shutdown. Just take a look at twitter. You need help in getting Eve back to the state it was a few years ago, because you are way over your head on this.

Or perhaps other companies are full of superhumans

Ok, so I reinstalled the game today during the login issues that was going on earlier today, thinking it might have been the old launcher causing troubles for me logging in.

So... I finally get the new launcher, aaaaaaand... I have to say I don't really like it at all.

I think the design is "flat" and dull, and boring tbh.

That is however not my real issue.

When I type my PW, two identical accounts pops up to choose from when I log in. Why is that? I only have ONE account. And why do I see two of the same account? How do I remove the second one, so I only have one showing?

Please file a bug report, attaching the launcher logs (%LOCALAPPDATA%/CCP/EVE/Launcher). Something is obviously not right, hopefully the logs will shed some light.

Have you figured out what causes this?

I'm asking because i have the same thing that the EVE Launcher is copying alot of things for maybe 1 minute several times every day before it starts to jump into the character screen after i press the 'PLAY' button. It's not a huge issue, but the EVE Launcher shouldn't have to copy files like this that often.

I'm on the latest version / build of Windows 10 Home and i also use the latest official EVE Launcher version.
