So, I had to ride my motorcycle to the emergency room yesterday. Waited 5+ hours...so long, my problem went away, kinda. Left.

Welcome to healthcare in the US!

That could happen to you in the Spanish public health system, specially on weekends. Rest of week there's faster means to see a doctor, ranging from "as fast as an ambulance can drive to your home" to less than 2 hours. On the other hand, the service is paid for with 15% of my salary, paid by my employer to the Social security.

Thinking of what kind of health care could I (not) afford for 15% of my salary, I'm glad to live in a civilized country were illness doesn't equals bankrupcy... Cool

Last time I went to the A&E in Ireland I was stuck waiting in the lobby for 13 hours before they put me on a trolley and had me wait another 5 hours before I saw a doctor.

That doctor told me to come back in 2 months for tests (yay waiting lists) and then forgot to put my name on the list.

I miss healthcare in the US...

With you, always a plastic bag and a towel carry you shall*. Happy ass is the dry ass.

*put the plastic bag on the wet ground and the towel on top of it. The bag keeps the towel dry and the towel keeps the bag in one piece as you move on it. Also useful to keep your knees dry.

Y'know, I've been thinking about retraining. Lockpicking has long been a hobby of mine. I have a bucket of locks in the shed that I occasionally delve into when my wife and I have had words.

I've always been quite partial to Gunsmith myself, followed closely by Black smith, with Will Smith in third place

The Pro Synergy Pilot is not just a fighting man, he is a salvage expert. If it is lost, in the blackness of space, he will find it. If it has been destroyed, he will loot and salvage it. If it is in his way, he will move it. If he is lucky he will be podded 20 jumps from home, for this is the closest he come to being hero.
