Still cant login

Launcher tells me 9800 online yet when i try and log on all i get is


Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong.

What the hell is going on thats 8 hours now

forgot the answer, the game came up for a while but then died, badly, leaving us all hanging in space b4 they finally turned it off.

put 2 new posts up but, things are disappearing.

Game keeps freezing for me and I keep having to run the Repair tool to log in.

(Since the database update and yes I cleared cache)

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

Open your prefs.ini file. You can find the file in the following location.
Press Windows Key + R and paste the following line into the Run window.
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility if you use Windows XP
%LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_(x86)_ccp_eve_tranquility if you use Windows Vista and Windows 7
Edit the PREFS.INI file and change port=26000 to port=3724 (or 3724 to 26000)
Save the file and then launch the client and try connect.

tried that but still cannot connect, strangely even when port set to 26000 it tries to connect to 3724

Thank you, changing the saved port in that folder too has fixed it for me.

if you are using the new launcher you need to change the prefs.ini in "\settings_default". It seems changing the prefs.ini in settings get ignored.

I can finally log in but when game boots up socket closes before I get to character selection, at bottem it says Unable to connect to Tranquility servers.eveonline.com on port 26000

I might have missed it - where is the post from CCP about this downtime? Don't service providers usually do that kind of thing? Isn't Eve a service we pay for monthly?

Still not able to log into the game.

First launcher could not log in my accounts.
After about 30 minutes of trying my accounts where connected in the launcher.
When i start the game from launcher. I get an error

Socket was closed (with in background: Unable to connect to tranquility.servers.eveonline.com on port 26000

I tried to change the prefs.ini file as was mentioned above. That didnt solve the problem.

That gave me the error: unable to connect, and something about "no internet connection".

Any other bright ideas?

I think you are misunderstanding the problem. Your end is fine. Their **** is down. Again.
