I know there is another lvl5 agent thread, but since it deals win non-mining I did not want to clutter it with this topic that probably will get no attention, though it should.

I have worked my way through the agents and am running lvl4 mining missions at the moment, and am ready for more. I really would like to do some lvl5 mining mission, if I could find them. I got several months left of improving my mining skills before I go on to other parts of the game, and the availability of lvl5 mining missions would seem logical at this point, especially since there is about to be a month of free-for-all against miners in general, it sure would be nice to at least give the miners what everybody else has, some lvl5 mission agents to help even the playing field.

Yes, I have used the in-game mission agent finder, and there are many non-mining lvl5 mission agents avaliable, and not a single lvl5 mining mission agent.

This is clearly unfair, and a public slight against miners in general, that the game does not support miners in the same fashion it supports 'thugs who blow thing up for fun'.

I am led to believe that miners are needed for the game to function properly, so why not support the miners on an equal basis with the rest of the players?

On the off chance you're serious and not just randomly trolling... have you checked to see if there are any L5 missions other than security missions? Because the answer is no. There are no L5 research, mining, distribution, or faction warfare agents or missions. All of these functions (well, besides faction warfare) are critical to the EVE economy -- but they are superfluous to EVE PvE, which is driven by combat and exploration.

Besides, have you considered the downsides of L5 missions as they would apply to mining? All low sec, usually in camped systems. If that's where you'd like to take your (I'm assuming) Hulk, feel free already. Trust me, there are some huge rocks out there (even if Veld is still the most profitable, there's more of it to be had in low). And no, I'm not just baiting you to mine in low randomly; I've done it and... it's a lot like mining in high but slightly more profitable assuming you can find a quiet system.

But meh. This was probably a troll in the first place and now I've gone and fed it.

I am legit. Please feel free to look at my posting history.

Lvl5 mining missions need not venture into lowsec systems, as in I currently run a lvl4 gas mining mission that happens in 0.8 space - as opposed to lower security systems where gas is usually found, and I also run a lvl4 ice mining mission in the same 0.8 space.

And I have mothballed my gas and ore hulks, I only use a hulk for ice mining in 0.8 space, I mine gas and ore in a battleship with 5 ogres for protection. I am quite willing to go to lowsec to mine, but I am half-way to a free navy issue battleship through loyalty points, so I am rather committed to doing missions, especially when I would like multiple free navy issue battleships.

It would be nice that if other miners were interested in lvl5 missions that they would drop their 2 cents in on this.

The lack of lvl5 missions for all aspects of game play is a glaring hole in the game, and should be fixed.

If L5 security missions are all in low sec, why wouldn't L5 mining missions be the same way? Frankly I'd expect it to be that way lest LP become even more massively devalued via farming.

Which is kind of the crux of the whole thing: there is already enough LP in the system to break it if everyone cashed in. Tag prices are already doing some fairly wonky things, and since L5 security missions actually increase tag supply while other L5 missions would presumably decrease it, introducing non-security L5s would have a major ripple effect throughout the economy. The balance between LP supply and tag supply has to be kept at least somewhat rational (unless CCP were to actively try to upset the current balance) or even more LP items will become simply worthless, eclipsed by readily available, higher meta deadspace items.

Lvl5 missions should just be removed, now that the only people farming it is large sov null entities locking down systems and farm hard. LP price atm has nothing to do with LP supply and everything to do with tag price. Before all lvl5s got moved to lowsec, individual carebears were salvaging highsec sites and collecting massive amount of tags, keeping their prices low. The tag prices spike coincides with the time it took for existing sell orders to run out after removal of highsec lvl5s. This is what happens when CCP messes with what's working and breaking itRoll

Yes, there's a lot of unused LP atm. But it wouldn't "break" the system. Just the opposite, LP shop is an enormous isk sink that should have been draining isk in eve economy, but haven't, because CCP was eager to gimp carebears even if it means breaking Eve.

I would like to think that the game engine is more robust than not, and can handle whatever way the market tilts. I am sure that the Devs will make any market adjustments as they might be needed.

I prefer to sandbox, as do a great many other players. And missions are the gravy to the meat of the game itself. Without missions it will take some more personal creativity to appease my gaming desires.

Multi-level mission agents are already a deep part of the game, removing them is not an option, so therefore they must be fixed. If must be, then put modifiers on the higher level missions so that they can not be abused as easily.

Denying access to higher level missions for the masses because a few will abuse the system just denies the masses anything worth having, the abusers will just find a different aspect of the system to abuse.
