EVE turned me into an Econ major.

Quite opposite for me.

When I learned how economy is working while playing EVE I noticed that I find trading and manufacturing very boring. Yes it would be a smart choice money wise, but I just can't do something that I can't find interesting enough.

So EVE turned me into major in mathematics and minor in computer science from path that would have been major in economics.

Most likely I will end up in financial or insurance company to make sure that their model is working.

But I think that every university in this planet should take EVE Online part of their economics courses. Seriously.

My computer science course had more economics than mathematics (practically no maths-thematic, though mostly arithmetics).
I learned CoBOL , still used in finance and insurance cies albeit on IBM and the like (not so cheap).

Good logic is not cheap either and is used in more than just senior management statistics.

I also studied psychology which deals with mathematics.

I'm no teacher / professor though.
My applications can be used for reference, if done right, but I prefer to filter my credit to avoid discrediting.

Problem is they won't believe you when you say things like, "Well, if housing prices can go up everywhere...why can't they go down everywhere?"

It wasn't the models so much as unrealistic expectations. The risk managers were either sidelined or in some cases outright fired when they warned about systemic risk.

In my book they were whipped on the spot and it's not the dog ice cream.
