although i agree that it's a burden, i don't see them removing it.
but maybe they could add an option to the graphics preferences: show none/selected/all

Instead of removing the 3D hologram, they could instead just place it right on the ground instead of having it hover above the facility location and obstruct clickable space. Naturally, it should also be click-through so that even tall launch pads and Advanced Processors cannot obstruct links or nearby facilities.
