I have read with interest the recent blogs re phasing out support for the 'old' launcher .. and the push to the new.

where Im having trouble is the claims that it is account security claim that sits behind it

Firstly I'd like to say - Im not a luddite and I embrace this kind of change .. but currently the Launcher does not support copy paste into the password box ..

Currently I use a secure password manager that generates a long complex password, unlikely to be cracked .. but far too long for me to regularly be typing it in full into a launcher .. I could 'remember; it in the client .. but THAT IS NOT SAFE .. and anyway .. borks every single update.

I suppose I could make it a small simple password .. but ten thats crackable isnt it ..

Whats the plan guys .. ??

From CSM summit:

CCP Snorlax replied that they're aware of issues with the Mac launcher that make them less than happy. Steve brought up the inability to paste passwords, to which CCP replied this is actually an issue with the Qt package they use in the launcher.


Guess no solution.

I believe I have a solution that I can deploy in the next few days to resolve this copy/paste issue.

CCP Snorkax replied in a Sunday. I think he/she is my new favorite Dev. Right up there with the other Devs who care about use Mac users.

The latest launcher version, 1014041, released just now, has the fix for copy/paste issue.
