Is there a way to get the launcher to auto-close now?

I just re-subbed and noticed the launcher stays launched all the time now. Did they remove the option to auto-close it?

You can close it from the menu at the top right.

The idea was to leave it running and allow it to update the game files and the launcher itself.

The previous launcher didn't close either?

I guess it depends on how far back you go when you say "previous launcher". In late 2014 it was possible to check a box in the launcher settings that would cause the launcher to auto-close after getting the client running.

Click the sprocket icon under the X in the upper right corner.

First tab ("General - Interface, Options") put a check mark in the box for "Close the EVE Launcher after starting EVE Online."

Is this option only available after the Launcher Downloads everything? I cannot find this setting anywhere in the launcher I have. There is not even a sprocket under the top right X.

I found it a bit irritating as I had the old launcher set to close when the game actually launched. Now that it has been pointed out that there is a reason for this, it is fine by me.

My issue is that the launcher appears every time I start my pc, although I full accept that I am a computer idiot, it may well be something I have not set up correctly.

Any advice?

Is the shortcut for the launcher in your startup folder? The launcher does not auto-launch for me when I start my computer.
