EVE forums / EVE gate error messages

I suggest adding the ability of the EVE forums / EVE gate error message to correctly identify when a cookie or session-related problem is occurring.

Currently, there appears to be just one error message for the forums which says "We've Been Ganked!" and announces that the forum is "down". Unfortunately, users get this message for ANY error, not just when the forums are down. For example, after yesterday's patch session cookies apparently became invalid/corrupted with the result that many players could not access the forums.

When there is a session-related problem it is misleading to give a "site down" error message, because the site is actually UP, only the user is not functioning because of a session cookie problem.

To give more accurate error information to the users I propose two changes:

- If the forum is actually down, it should be shown on the main access page (http://www.eveonline.com/) as being down, that way the player will not even try to go to the forum.

- If the forum is not down, but the user's session is invalid, there should be a different error message like: "Unable to log you in" or "Session Information Corrupted" or "Bad Cookie" or whatever. The error message should be accurate.

- if the user has invalid session information, they should still be able to access the forums as a guest; blocking all forum access, including guest access because of a bad cookie is unnecessary

Of course, if you were cognizant of basic internet security measures, like keeping cookies out that you don't need and regularly clearing ones you must have so they will refresh, you wouldn't have had this issue.
