Right, one bit of positive news at least, with the second iteration(not the initial release) of Crimson 16.1.1 hotfix, i can idle in station without crashing. Thats one step better than the previous crimson drivers! Gonna try to run some missions with my Tengus and see if holds up, i'll get back to you.

*edit* scratch that, started happening after some hours, that was a premature Horaah, crimson 16.1.1 hotfix 2 is also broken for eve, or eve broken for it.

Had the same Problem with my R9 390 and Crimson Drivers.

I switched to windows update WHQL driver (Win10 64) -> no more crashes

This may cause issues or low fps many other new games. But I play not much else atm.

Running R9 390, crimson drivers, win 10 and multipe clients at max and I have no issues. There must be some combination of hardware or corrupted drivers/software thats causing the issue ppl are experiencing.

there is zero corruption or broken hardware, this is a software issue of some sort. Especially concidering the issues Only happen with EVE Online, there are no issues whatsoever with any other game or program. Just EVE.

If it were 100% an issue between eve and crimson drivers then everyone would have it. As I said I have no issues and considering how few ppl have reported the problem its safe to say the majority of players do not have it. Simply because you havent isolated the problem that doesnt mean its a complete compatibility issue. Could be a conflict caused by interaction with a completely different hardware component or piece of software. Knowing that it doesnt effect every user is just as important to finding out what the problem is as anything else.

(It also doesnt mean anything (hardware/software) is broken. Just that they arent playing nice together)

What hardware are you on? Maybe its motherboard chip related

Suprisingly enough I'm on an MSI m5 branded Z170 i7 6700k.

My card is xfx branded, yours? You're also not overclocked I assume.

no overclock and latest UEFI. Asus VIII Hero and Asus 290X-DC2 . So its probably not related to the chipset then, we are both on Windows 10 with skylake builds. GPU manufacturer seems irrelevant. Other hardware i have is an Asus Xonar Essence STX and an Adaptec 6805e SAS controller.

I dont think there are any common factors between us that has problems with Crimson and EVE. And to get enough peoples specs to compare, well i think only CCP can get that info through bug-reports.

Also people that have these issues just roll back to pre-crimson drivers to play, i dont mind not running the crimson drivers for now, but in the near future i want to play fallout 4, and switching back and forth between drivers just cause eve crashes with crimson? I dont know really Cry , I mean it works with Catalyst drivers, flawlessly, so any conflicts are restricted to crimson and eve together.

What about the settings within crimson. Are you running all defaults or using custom settings? Its a long shot but since I just use default its related.
Some ppl seem to be reporting that running eve in dx9 solved their problems and I believe the way crimson utilizes direct x is changed from older drivers. Could be that something that crimson is enabling in direct x is causing a direct x issue with another component like the sound card.

All defaults, switching to dx9 does not solve it for me, neither does turning off missile smoke effects (which Crimson 16.1.1 hotfix v2 does)

Resubbed and I am running into the same exact problems. Performance wise the game seems perfectly fine, 60 FPS stable with everything maxed. However my driver crashes either as soon as I fire missiles or within 5 to 10 minutes while firing them. I did not appear to have any issues using a turret-oriented ship, but I will need to do further testing to prove that.

Gonna try getting the hotfix that was mentioned and see if that fixes any of my problems. Windows 7 64-bit, R9 290x, latest Crimson drivers.

Hotfix? Catalyst 15.11.1 beta is the last Catalyst driver, not a hotfix :)

Crimson 16.2 suffers from the same issues, missile effects are simplified by the driver http://i.imgur.com/C2VWPu4.png

Crimson 16.2.1 suffers from the same issues.

recorded a bit while testing the 16.2.1 drivers running two missions, put timestamps in the description for quick jumping to the errors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6_QM-Yr0j4 . So that people can see what sort of issues Crimson causes for us. The music is for my own sanity in this endless struggle against software issues with Crimson drivers and EVE online, just mute it.

*edit* With DX9, missile effects and turrets/launchers turned off the game runs stable now however.

Glad I found this and am not the only one :)

I see this issue randomly since I got my new win 10 PC and a 390X about two weeks ago. Seems to happen mostly in incursions for some reason. Where i can join a large 600+ fleet fight in null sec I have yet to see it crash. It is some what intermittent though. For instance i can play all day doing incursion fleets one day fine and then the next day it will crash 5 times in a row. All other games have no issues. Will submit bug report next time it happens

I have this problem also. I can reproduce it pretty solidly right now. I have an R9 290X with the latest drivers.

If I go into one of the new guristas sites it crashes my display drivers once I start battling the missile firing cruisers in the second room of the site. It's very obvious that the crash happens right when the npc's fire their missiles.

If I turn off missile effects the problem is gone completely. Also have no problem in any other game.

So this issue might be tied together with the missiles effects not working properly with Crimson drivers?

That's what I've encountered in my case. Going to test with DX9 as well.

Gotta say I'm glad you have this problem (R9 290 here) and never had a problem until these Guristas sites, even resorted to flashing the BIOS on the card. Gonna try turning off missiles once I get back.

Just say NO to Dailies

I am having an issue with my R9 290 card also, or maybe it's just EvE?
A few minutes into the game after I log in, the game minimizes to taskbar and I am prompted to change windows aero settings...
Got to say this is happening only with EvE, no other game on my computer gives me this issue.
I have filled a bug report and would be happy to see this sorted :)
