The only chart I have found that explains the icons for the ship types and other in-space objects is the following image linked out of a dev blog:

However, this image is scaled down and not high resolution. Is there an improved, full resolution version of this graphic somewhere?

Obviously the chart came from somewhere and has a high-res version, but I guess it has never been released by CCP. Maybe an oversight?

Nobody's going to memorize a screenful of squiggles as a way to identify ships. We're all still going to look at the overview, where the squiggle is right next to the ship type spelled out in words for you. So, yeah, CCP forgot to release the full resolution chart, but also, we all didn't care enough to ask for it.

It's like the manual that comes with a car; it's there but nobody reads it.

The only catch is really an added bar to combat ships for next half-step larger hulls (destroyer and battlecruiser). Most of the others you don't have to worry about, so you can take the time to click on them for more info if you don't know them.
