FW Suggestions to Fix Some of the Problem

Hi guys i have a couple of ideas that could contribute to the fixing of factional warfare:


1 - Use the incursion mechanics for FW warzones. The mechanic for incursions feels large scale and more like a war front type activity by replacing current FW missions and FW plexes with an incursion style gameplay. The content would abviously need some work to ensure the sites felt like warzone missions / operations but if done well it should encourage the formation of factional gangs out seeking riches and conquest for their respective faction. When a site is completed members of the gang will recieve an LP reward (just like incursions) plus the faction takes a step toward claiming constellation control. The intent of making this change is to increase gang participation in FW, link player all activity into constellation conquest and to lure the pve pilots into a theatre that will hopfully force more pvp confrontation.

2 - Fight for the control of a constellation not a system by this I mean replace conquest with a constellation conquest mechnic. The opportunity to fight for the conquest of a constellation introduces the opportunity to build rare content. What do i mean well the current control process goes something like plex plex plexplex plex plex plex plex plex plex etc until system becomes vulnerable then go shoot "the bunker" with a load of battleships for a long time and hope the enemy gives a toss to come defend. Not really alll that fun but by expanding the scale and adding content where an armed constellation command post needed to be over come using integrated fleet of say sub cap and cap vessels then we have the stuff of legends. Much of FW has been developed on a base of small gang pvp and this is the bread and butter that makes it enjoyable but thats not to say we can all come together once in a blue moon fora big operation and have fun doing it. Now you could argue we could do this and retain system conquest but for my mind i think the occurance of these large scale conquest battles need to be really rare events to ensure that when one does occur everyone wants to be present and playing. (Also some kind of mechnic to prvent non FW cyno into the system during the conquest fight should be considered to avoid large null alliances destroying the enjoyment of players)

3 - Again using the incursion / wormhole mechanics make conquest mean something. The incursion mechanics provide the base to deny services and apply penalites. Use this to introduce effects that secure a home territory advantage. Example could be:

* 30 second delay to process docking requests.
* Higher sales tax on purchases from hostile constellations.
* Enemy factional controlled stations in hostile space are locked down. (ie 24th Imperial Fleet station in minmatar system is non functional till control regained)
* Repair costs are doubled in hositle constellations.
* etc etc etc...


Well there are 3 ideas that admittedly mainly revolve around adapting incursion game mechanics to the factional warfare environment
