Changing the default rendering for Qt to use software OpenGL. This can still be overridden with the QT_OPENGL environment variable (desktop or angle).

The reason for changing this now is that we're simply seeing a lot more crashes reported, as well as errors logged, both with desktop OpenGL and angle. Software appears to be the most stable, although there are cases where it won't start up with that setting. In that case, set the QT_OPENGL environment variable to either desktop or angle.

Getting this error today when I try to login via launcher.

Your Eve client installation may have been modified, damaged or corrupt files. Please run repair.exe located in the Eve game directory or re-install the game client.
Verification failed:
'C:\ProgramData\CCP\EVE\SharedCache\tq\bin\staticdata\mapObjects.db', crc:f15d5493, expected:87ed2beb.

I've tried the OpenGL fix and to the repair tool, but it didn't fix the problem. If I launch Eve via the .exe it works.

OS: Windows 10 Home

Motherboard: MSI Z97A Gaming 7(MS-7916)

CPU:  Intel Core i7-4790K @4.00 GHz

GPU:  GeForce GTX 970

I fixed this issue.

I had to go to:

C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\ProgramData\CCP\EVE\SharedCache\tq\bin\staticdata and delete file "mapObjects.db"

and delete the mapObjects.db file.

New launcher works fine now.

Debian user here.

Was playing with previous (ver ?) launcher fine. After update to 1003795 play button gives no result.

Launcher log http://pastebin.com/raw/Vn1BP408

Debian stretch
Wine - winhq wine-1.9.2 (Staging)

Any ideas how to launch game now?

I'm extremely sad =)

P.S. Just tried old launcher, same result, game not starting, has to be eve itself.

Added:

After several attempts, got this in launcher log:

2016-02-10T00:55:36.914Z debug QWebEnginePage: "Error launching the client for emik0: SecurityError: Blocked a frame with origin \"https://launcher.eveonline.com\" from accessing a cross-origin frame." 1 "https://launcher.eveonline.com/1.812/bundles/scriptsc78a.js?v=JfycQVUWWz_lH9i6ir_U50EHNznPp4_FTTfMC8gAgv41"

I am having the same issue. This occurred after the patch. Nothing was changed prior to this patch or the SSO debacle yesterday. I am by no means a PC, coding, expert.

What happened and how do I fix this problem?

I can use the old launcher and log in, not on the new launcher. Please explain in a fashion that non coding geeks can understand:)

Can we please have updates that don't require hours of fixing things that we did not do to ourselves?

Max

edit: why would it even refer to my C drive? I have nothing remotely related to eve on that drive. All eve stuff is on my F: drive and always has been. Again I made no changes prior to this patch...

Civil discourse is uniquely human. After all, when is the last time a pride of lions and a herd of water buffalo negotiated SOV over a watering hole? Never. Someone either gets their ass kicked or eaten. At the end of the day someone holds SOV.

I've got an error similar to yours, except I AM getting a crc of mapObjects.db of "87ed2beb" while the launcher is expecting a crc of "473f8d1e".

I have no idea how to fix this.

edit: Launcher version 1003795. I got a similar error to this many times in the past when the launcher was in Beta version. It always kicked in ~3 weeks after I installed it. I really don't want to uninstall EVE and reinstall it again. -_-

edit2: My C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\ folder is a mess. I've got lots of folders with names like "c_progra~2_ccp_eve-20~3" and "c_programdata_ccp_eve_sharedcache_tq_tranquility". I'm not sure what should be deleted and what shouldn't. File search doesn't reveal any "mapObjects.db" file exists.

edit3: I just searched all my drives and deleted every mapObjects.db file I could. Launcher works again. Yaay.
