The UI changes have been asked for by many many people over many years. Because they didnt do what one group of people wanted doesn't mean they didn't listen. They just didn't listen to you, which is why you're pissed.

Show me one example of ppl asking for extra key presses to track objects on overview. How about an example of someone wanting tracking camera to NOT follow objects as they enter warp? How about someone ASKING for the camera to bob around more and generally just behave more sluggishly? The ONLY thing in this new camera I've ever seen asked for, was the first person camera which its self is just a joke. Do ppl want UI improvements? Absolutely. Is this new camera an improvement? Nope.

If you start looking at things ppl have actually asked for I'll tell you what you'll find... nothing that's actually been added. But hey, they also made some improvements to ships that appear in the captains quarters. That's nice huh?

I hunt using the d-scan. I can quickly find things or have a quick look at the environment near or far, focused or general.
Having to click things to make the camera track them kills this.
It's like it was made by some clever-clogs who doesn't play eve.
It's not a matter of adapting, the useful feature is broken.
Gonna go read that dev blog and see if i can make tracking camera work like the old system.
If not, you broke a good thing guys, a good thing.

Two words for anyone who plays EVE with a PVP mindset.... TRACKING CAMERA.

No no no no no, CCP please..... ffs, why replace a functioning feature that gets a huge amount of use with something that functions less well and not when you're in warp. Why??? Why replace one click with several?? Why slow stuff down???? If finding targets isn't already hard enough in this game now you slow down a key function that makes finding targets easier... I'm speechless.

I'll keep the new camera off till the day you take that option from me. And then we'll see...

I like the ability to easily switch back and forth. I do not like how switching disables my tactical overlay.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

Instead of just saying "no it's not" I'd love to hear an honest opinion on how adding key presses to camera tracking and not allowing the tracking camera to follow targets that enter warp is not bad for pvp.

Try a new camera? It looks like I'm in X3 Terran conflict / Reunion with zooming glasses.
Really, strange zooming camera.

When I came today to the game, I wanted to close this game and leave again, I'm very emotional.
CCP, I think it is wrong idea with this camera.

At least, let live the old Good camera, let it stay in the game.

I do NOT want use zooming glasses. Thank, but no.

I tried the new first person camera yesterday. Was surprisingly fun with my fast frigate. And it took CCP only 12+ years to implement this!

Just want to remind every one to PLEASE read the official feedback thread. Take note of some of the concerns that have been expressed and voice your opinions. If players don't speak up we can say good bye to the old camera and we'll all be stuck with this new "feature" whether we like it not.

Old camera will be removed completely in one month so better get used to the new one.

And read the dev blog which explains how change-averse people can make the new camera behave almost identically to the old one.

They remove old camera and there will be riots. New camera is s*** and have been saying so for months. Broken useless s****.

Same story with the stupid ring they added around the cap display that's supposed to "help navigate." The icon changes I can live with, don't like them but whatever. They don't effect gameplay so much. But who ever is doing this UI work needs to be let go. It's just one worthless, unwanted, nonfunctional change being forced down our throat after another.

(not to mention the new maps and probe scanning. Ppl are still having issue's with those)

I will give them this. At least before forcing this garbage to default they fixed camera rotation during look at. Last I tested it on the test server if you selected an object and hit "track" (though why they needed to force us to hit a button to do that when it worked automatically before is beyond me) and you then tried to rotate the camera to look around the camera would detach from your ship and rotate around a point in empty space. Completely destroying any sense of situational awareness or even giving you any clue where you ship was at all for that matter. Your ship just completely vanished out of view and would VERY slowly slide back into view after 10 seconds or so. The camera seems to remain on your ship now at least, but the camera movement is all still so horribly clunky/drifty/bouncy that the entire thing is nausea inducing.

So lets see, what have they given us and how much of it is either largely disliked, unwanted, non-functional or just down right abhorred...

New "blurry transparent" UI?
New ui icons?
New module icons?
New overview icons?
Navigational ring thingamajig?
New star map?
New system/probe map?
Changes to dscan min range?
New "improved" camera?
First person camera? lol's

All that and one simple thing that either can't or refuse to do that ppl repeatedly asked to have back that we USED to have but they took away, custom ui colors...

CCP's UI devs and who ever approves their work are more out of touch with the player base than the US government is with US citizens.

Tell us how you really feel.

True, usually it's the ones who are more pissed off about the changes in Eve that are the vocal majority. We'd rather ***** about this or that than waste the time to make a thread just to say, "Hey, that's actually well done. Wow, thanks, CCP," anyways. More fun that way.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Some of the videos I've watched on it were saying it appeared to be more tuned to people doing the screen recording stuff, don't know how accurate that is, but it is an interesting change.

I do like the FPV camera, it lets me point and shoot the ship where I couldn't before. You had to do jump/stop weirdness to get to someplace close that you wanted to. Now I just drive my ship there.

I'm not a fan of the targeting circle menus. If I'm near something large, it's a pain to zoom out and reorient my view so I can be looking where I want. I know I can shut that off but I'm not sure if the menus offer something more than my overview ones yet, jury is still out there.

Since I'm still getting used to all this, the new cameras don't bother me one way or the other, but I can see advantages in the old camera views too. I'd say make a button to stick with the old camera view as well, right on the UI. Call it "Classic Cam" or something.

I hate the new camera, its crap....

I'm glad you can turn it off and go back to the old camera...

What have they done...

I know it needed some improvements but they have made it WORSE!!!

Please keep the tick in the settings to revert back to old camera controls!!!

-I want a camera that gives me like a sort of "Bridge View" from the command chair with free look, with lots of big windows.
-I also want a camera attached my very expensively developed Incarna Avatar, just in front of the eyes, also with free look.

I don't care I'm in a POD! I still want a friggin camera attached to the headrest of the command char with Free Look.
And the expensively developed Incarna Avatar can be an advanced walking camera drone for all I care, but with Free Look.

The command chair camera should not have a third person camera drones zipping around, though the expensively developed Incarna Avatar could have one, as long as it doesn't end up in an air vent like some SyFi space game loosely related to BasketBall, Hockey, and Rugby all in one.

Edit: Oh yeah, and with Free Look, in case it was missed.

The current camera is fine.
I still see a rusting hulk sitting in my hanger that I've never used but who cares.

I heard you could see more stuff if you go outside, but I don't know. I have everything I could want here.

btw if you uncheck every single camera option and set the speed to the fastest it almost feels like the old camera for just navigating around. except for the y axis speed when holding your left mouse button... it's awkwardly slow.
