Quick question about Salvage Drones... Not the obvious (may be a bug)

So I've been using salvage drones for belt rats and mostly it goes smoothly. I've twice now run into a wreck which my drones will claim to attempt to salvage, but that they never actually fire their laser at. Specifically, there is no failure, no success, they're not even trying but they're marked as "salvaging" on the drone overview.
I've tried recalling and relaunching, untargetting and retargetting, specifically ordering my drones to salvage it or just using the general area salvage command. Nothing seems to work...
This is a minor problem as it's relatively rare that a wreckage does this, however if I'm using the auto salvage, all of my drones will get stuck on such wrecks until they decay...

I also tried releasing the wreckage, and using another accounts drones, nothing I seemed to do would cause my drones to attempt to salvage, but they would get stuck trying and not performing other tasks... Any assistance would be great.

This sounds like something you will want to file a bug report for using the F12 menu.

I hate bug reports but that's what I thought might be the case, guess I was hoping to be told i was doing something wrong. Thanks for the reply, I'll get on that.

If your salvage skill is not at the required level, then its probably a commander wreck you dont have the Salvage level for...

Unless I'm mistaken Salvage Drones are unable to salvage 'elite' wrecks ... so that might be why nothing happens. Not sure if that's the reason though.

You tried to salvage "commander" or "elite" wreck, what salvage drones are unable to do. Drones will continue to orbit it, but nothing will be happen.

You'll need a salvager equiped on your ship and Salvage skill on required level to complite such task.
