What kind of scam is the new FAX skill book?

The fact the skill book is 500m is just wrong.

The dread skill book is 100m because the dread is a single role hull, you can only fit for gank, ergo 100m worth.
Carrier book is 500m, ok so this is justified as it allows dual roles in a single hull, plus its the key to flying a super.
The new fax skill book should be 100m along with the dread book as its a single role now in a separate hull, the carrier book should be reduced to about 350m to compensate not being able to duel use your carrier anymore.

Kind of a ' lol F*ck you guys, love CCP'

A good point.

Even with the sp re-allocation ability though, those with the carrier skill already (and that are planning to dump sp's from carrier into fax as they only wanted triage functionality) will have effectively paid 1bil for the right to remote rep. Seems cheeky. An extra 100mil, ok, an extra 500? hmm.

i see this like you

have 9 chars and getting 9 x 4 skillbooks each 500misk

nah, aint funny at all CCP

other thing that bothers me is we are blind skilling those skills without even knowing what the stats of those news force aux ships will be, or is there a devblog about this already and i missed it?

Nope, not missed anything, CCP think it's best to keep their players in the dark regarding it seems. It's a massively stupid way to roll out to be honest, release the skill book first but dont tell the players what role bonuses and hull bonuses the new ships will get when released.

Best guess is they'll follow the trends of their carrier brothers regarding bonuses, but, you know, CCP, so they could be anywhere.

Just noticed this in ccp focus group logs:

CCP Larrikin - The low cost / rank of the Dreadnought skill is the anomaly rather than the high cost / rank of the Carrier skill.

So forcing us to pay 500mil for the second time, per race flown, to retain pre-patch functionality is totally cool, it just seems bad cos the dread skill is cheaper than it should be.

Makes sense.

It occurrs to me that we're also already being charged in gametime spent on the new skill. Sure we're being allowed to re-allocate sp's from carrier...great....however those sp's now represent half of their previous value in terms of roles unlocked and training time. For example I trained carriers up to be able to use drones in combat and to be able to triage, post patch I will be forced to choose between those two roles already aquired and then have to put fresh training time into the remaining skill to be able to do what I did previously. That training time is a little more than a plex and so is worth around £20 or the isk value of a plex and a bit to me. (or however much that would cost in injectors @150k sp per injector)

So essentially it seems that this change will cost me around £20 and 500mil isk (for skillbook) per character, per racial capital skill, to be able to do what I could do before the patch to the same level. Unless I'm missing something obvious.

The more I think about it the more I get the feeling ccp hasn't had the courtesy to use vaseline.
