There are a lot of player corps that have intermittent players. In my own, we have people who don't play for months at a time sometimes. A few days here and there isn't an issue unless you're joining some leet PvP corp or something.

I do not consider Eve to be a social arena where I need to have friends to hold my hand as I struggle with the complexities of the game. The challenge of being a solo player is to regenerate one's interest by peeling each onion-like layer of New Eden to see if that layer piques one's interest. Then time can be spent in quiet enjoyment of this new trail of adventure and accomplishment.

I've had other players scoff at the solo game and arrogantly state "MMORPG" means 'multiplayer', inferring I am not part of what the game is meant to be. I consider them as part of the scenery and backdrop I play in, nothing more or less.

There is a constant sub-routine running in my brain planning, examining recent past game events, considering alternative routes of action, weighing tactics, and anticipating the next set of moves. It is an infinite puzzle I am figuring out piece by piece, one that makes demands on my intellect and forces me to focus and concentrate for long periods of time.

The darkness of Eve evokes a sense of caution and the pitting of my wits and cunning against both the game developers and other players. It is up to me, and only me to keep this experience exhilarating and ever evolving.

In that vein, do not consider solo play to be a handicap, consider it to be an intricate challenge to your inner self.
