tbh, i don't think it's the downtime and server shutdown that is the root cause of the reason this game isn't for you...

ehh..compared to Battlenet, EA game servers etc .. CCP unscheduled downtime is minimal; they do an excellent job of keeping the game running.

Been playing 10 years and this happens right after you start playing.

Relax. That doesn't happen very often. But if you have problem with that, then better don't play after the downtime tomorrow.

Longest DT I recall was about nearly 2 days way back a ways and they were all very red faced about that though it was something pretty elusive I recall.

VIP mode still it seems so I guess no more Eve for me tonight Cry

At least when the server is up it actually works - unlike LOTRO where the recent data centre "upgraded hardware" has made it laggily unplayable about half the time.

One minute shutdown means something amazingly bad was discovered or it shut itself - either way, hardly done on purpose...
