Let's make a checklist shall we?
[N] Is it the year M40?
[N] Eye of Terror Present?
[N] Rampaging Orks everywhere?
[N] Asshat space elves present?
[N] BDSM space elves present?
[N] Do you use the Realm of Chaos to warp around?
[N] Any Tyrannid fleets present?
[N] Is the imperium compromised of millions of inhabited planets that spans the entire galaxy?
[N] Are we in the milky way galaxy?
[N] Any Tomb Worlds?
[N] Are the Tau spreading the Greater Good across the cluster?

According to my checklist, if not all of them are [Y] then the Imperium won't be disbanding anytime soon. Oh I forgot,
[N] Is the imperium led by the God Emperor of Mankind?

The Imperium will never disband

After conquering the whole of EVE, a period of stasis will inevitably result. Miners will mine, explorers will explore, and the PVP'rs will grow fat off tribute extracted from the subjugated races.

Eventually however, with the waning health of the Emperor Mittani, factions will emerge , coalescing around the illegitimate child of the Mittani and an Amarr slave girl.

A massive civil war will break out, the Imperium will fracture, and chaos in all its infinite glory will reign once more.

That's if the standard history textbooks are anything to go by.
