Incursions in FW warzones

Newsflash...(most) Ppl live in a pvp warzone because they want pvp content. Can you take your obnoxious and intrusive pve invasions and send them back to pve space please?

I know I know, I've already got my own tear bucket out for my own tears. I just find these incursions such a poor excuse for "content" and having pve interfere with pvp just irks me. FW npc militia patrols I could deal with, it's just all the system effects and npc gate camps that make incursions in a specifically designated pvp area downright annoying.

Hehe, fair enough I suppose.
Difference being though that at least pvp is player created content and has the potential for actual unpredictable interaction. Pve is just an algorithm running around being annoying.

I could quote Sun Tzu here, but instead I'll just say: Deal with it!

Battlefield conditions can change, and if they do, you'll have to adapt. Imagine it like fighting a battle at night, or in the winter or under otherwise ****** conditions. It's a system wide effect, so the enemy has to deal with it as well.

While I agree to an extent there are other implications to an incursion in FW space. For example, how willing are pve'ers to bring their pve fleets into a warzone crawling with ppl looking for things to blow up? With the way drifter incursions grow and spread is there a reasonable expectation that they will be dealt with the same way they might be in other area's of space or will they just serve as an annoyance to players who normally operate there? And if they are just an annoyance that no one is going to do anything to deal with then what do they bring to the game?

You are right, they are by far not as popular as HS Incursions, but occasional LS Incursion fleets do happen. There's a certain merit to running incursions in Lowsec, as the payout is a bit better and you don't have to bring your 2.5B Nightmares and Machariels out just so you don't get owned by competing fleets. T2 fit Battleships, and even Battlecruisers are perfectly capable of running Incursion sites in Lowsec.

In terms of danger - FW Zones aren't necessarily more or less dangerous than the rest of lowsec to a PvE minded player. You can get ripped to bits outside of FW space just as well. If you don't go straight to Tama to grind your ISK, you'll be fine, even in FW space.

Thanks for that. I don't do the incursion thing and very little pve nowadays. It's good to hear an opinion from someone who likely does or has more experience in the matter. That's really the point of this post, to get some sensible opinions on the matter.

You're looking at it from a metagame context. Within the in-game/fictional context of New Eden, it's space like any other. And Sansha are looking for their victims like any other region. :)

i agree it kinda ruins fw warzones. makes finding fights harder. people usually just chill in stations longer when an incursion hits.

The same goes for many players as well. To someone not interested in FW, FW zones might just be Lowsec, nothing more, nothing less.

Admittedly, I do not know a lot about Factional Warfare, so let me know if I'm talking nonsense. Would it not be much easier to take a system from the other side, if they don't undock just because it's all green and spooky outside? One side just has to start it.

I once died in a VNI after jumping into incursion rats.

I totally agree OP. I'm a tough pvper and dying to rats is very embarrassing, just ask Grath:

https://soundcloud.com/gsen/grath-and-madcat-vs-incursion-rats

CCP do something about this. Hearing Grath in such a distraught state is heartbreaking.

Incursions in lowsec are literally torture.

Lol's, that's pretty funny. Lol

I lost a hookbill to an (nearly) instalocking scram/web named incursion rat once on a gate but it wasn't nearly that entertaining.

A bit ironic that your player created content is Faction Warfare.
