I hope this isn't considered a stupid question, but I haven't been able to find the answer by searching. Why are Ship skin prices so high? Why are there so few options? Most of my personally owned ships (Caldari) have 3 skins available.

Thanks.

so few options cause they still realtively new

so expensive because so few people buy them from AUR to sell them.

so player driven market means the low supply combined by high demand = high price
if alot of people start selling them, and demand stays high. they will be medium priced and sell fast
if alot of people start selling them, and demand drops. they will be dirt cheap.

A higher price makes them more unique.

My complaint on skins is less the price and more to do with the way we fly ships in EVE. We don't tend to fly ships by a single type but a wide range.
So rather than having to buy individual licences for 100 different ships I'd be much more likely to buy them if they were tied to entire racial lines or sizes. So I could buy Punketris Pink for all Minmatar ships, or all Caldari Cruisers (Including T2).
Price I do feel is a bit much also but not by a factor of ten or anything, but again, the price doesn't really consider that most people fly a large range of different ships (& even supercap pilots will get to change ships with Citadels.)

Wrong

It's because they are ridiculous vanity items and know that an RPing fool and his spacebux are easily parted
