Need help! Having trouble with drone aggro, Guristas space.

I never was into ratting and always did incursions but I felt like moving into guristas space.

So here's my problem, i've spent alot of isk trying different ships and fits trying to fix this but so far I have failed, and posting here is my last option.

Guristas are hard switching on my drones, and they are doing this constantly and without warning back and forth with each drone and they won't even shoot my ship.

Even if I pull the drone back in they switch to another and refuse to shoot my current ship, and i've tried quite a few with all the same results.

-Dual RR domis and single(kills my sentries) used ecm and target painters drones still switched

-dual ishtars and single(Tried heavies and sentries with same results) used ecm and target painters drones still switched

-thanatos(lost fighters from not being able to lock in time with hard switching)

-Vindicator(small drones disrupt and my vindi cant track them, using small or medium drones will get killed quickly preventing me from using the vindi)


The only one I haven't tried is Rattlesnake because i'm literally almost out of isk of trying different setups but I assume it's probably the same.

I really want to be able to live out in null but this prevents me from doing so, i have to and I mean HAVE to use drones to clear small disrupting targets or i die.

They will stop targeting your drones as soon as you start posting with your main

the cloak is slowing your lock time down, fit smart bombs and have small drones in you drone bay, lots of them, kill the scram frigs first then launch fighters.

Try thanatos and an ishtar, let the ishtar deal with cruiser and below and let the fighters deal with everything else, you will clear sites super fast

My friend is having the same issue with drone aggro, but he switched to dual rattles and he said the drones are aggroing less. So I guess I'll switch to rattlesnakes and see if it's better, and I would do tengu but I have crap skills for it.


I really didn't want to have to do missile ships because I have terrible skills for them but if it works it works Ugh

Use that to your advantage.. use crap t1 drones while you blap them lol

Why leave? Use other ship types, lazors or missiles or whatever

I've run a lot of Gurista sites with 100MN AB fit VNIs with occasional issues with drones getting aggro, but nowhere near your apparent troubles.

Perhaps try fitting a Warfare Link to that Thanny? I hear rats really hate ships running warfare links.........

I've personally not had much trouble running rattlesnakes. Of course the drones are tanky enough that it doesn't really matter much what's shooting at them. That said I pretty much stick with heavies running forsaken rallypoints, or I use sentries when running combat sites and pull them if they start getting aggro.

From what I've heard, try ejecting from your ship while at a pos and get back in. You have to be in space while doing so, so at an outpost wont work. Havn't tried it myself, but others swear by it.
