Singularity Mass Test: Thursday 28th January

Hello test pilots,
We are planning a mass test for the Project Discovery feature, as well as general client performance on Singularity on Thursday January 28th, at 17:00 UTC (= EVE time)!

What exactly is being tested?


How to connect to Singularity for this test:

Read the Instructions at http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Singularity and read general instructions about mass tests at http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Mass_testing.
Join the in-game channel "MassTesting"

Setup notes:
It is advised to complete the Project Discovery tutorial before taking part in the test.
To open Project Discovery on Singularity, open the Neocom menu, and look in the Business section.

Test steps:

  1. Meet in FD-MLJ at the gate to X-BV98
  2. Instructions will be given in MassTesting channel.
  3. All players will be asked to open the Project Discovery window.
  4. We will jump through to X-BV98
  5. All players select classification for a sample, hold off on hitting submit
  6. All players will be asked to submit a sample analysis at the same time.
  7. From here on, please complete as many project discovery tasks as possible during the rest of the test.
  8. We will align to planet 6 in X-BV98
  9. Warp to POS beacon.
  10. Shoot the control tower when asked to do so.
  11. Align to Poitot gate.
  12. Fleet 1: Jump to Poitot and setup gate camp
  13. Fleet 2: Jump to Poitot + fight a the gate


What else should I know?

Use the command /moveme to be moved to the start system FD-MLJ
Bring any ship you want but keep in mind there is a big fight at the end so tank and weapons are usually a good idea.
2M Skill points will be awarded on Singularity for taking part in this mass test.

Will Project Discovery receive an update before this masstest? There is already an incredible amount of good feedback given so far! I imagine this will mostly be a test to check the stress it creates on the servers?

It's actually designed to be run at any time, anywhere in EVE. So we're looking to get that tested. The test mainly consists of a POS bash Blink

We have fixed a couple of issues identified and are working on investigating the feedback more. You're right that we're looking at stress testing this, not only for our own servers but the MMOS servers too. This masstest will give us valuable feedback about the traffic. We've already had excellent data so far, including the analyzed samples received.

When you say ANYWHERE... are you even including Wormholes in this? I would greatly enjoy being able to contribute to science from W-space where I live and breath almost all of my time.

Sweet. I'm glad that you didn't limit this since it is for science and you are rewarding us for doing it :P. gives me something to do in all the different amounts of downtime that I have.

If possible, i'd quite like my account activated for this if it isnt already. (It wasnt a few weeks ago, and SiSi is down so I cant check :(

Can not join today. Off to do some work today.

Had a chance to try the project though and was an interesting little side game.

Do not know if those research points were just about leveling up or if they a used to buy items from the store. I will try some more later, once Singularity is up and running with a new mirror.

I logged in to the singularity server and my skill levels are much lower than on my tranquility account. I can't use anything effective in a POS bash. I can't use any on my T2 equipment T2 Ships T3 ships nor are my level 5 skills trained. Also, the 2 mil SP reward, does that transfer to my main account that I logged into with on the sing server from the tranq server?
