I have moved from the ANI to the Nightmare, and am currently getting myself used to the idea of a cargohold full of cap boosters and only looting Gone Berzerk and a couple of other missions to increase my ISK/hr. Although mostly I just have fun and shoot everything anyway and enjoy looting because of the interesting things I find.

This is what I was flying

[Apocalypse Navy Issue, Apocalypse Navy Issue: Lvl 4 Imperial RipperRoo]

Armor EM Hardener II
Armor EM Hardener II
Armor Thermal Hardener II

And I have been flying this:

[Nightmare, Missions]

Pith C-Type X-Large Shield Booster
Shield Boost Amplifier II

Large Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer II

Cap Booster 800

I would love to read your critiques of these fits - pros and cons. But don't criticize without posting a fit yourself that is better, please, even if it is just a fit that changes up some of the items in these fits to make them better.

I'd probably add a Drone LInk Augmentor and some Curators.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Nightmare without a prop mod of any kind makes me uncomfortable. I found that all too often I had to move the thing and god damn is it slow as ****. Either put a 100MN AB on your pulse fit or try a MJD with a tach fit. Tach might run something like this:

[Nightmare, tach 2 mjd]
Imperial Navy Heat Sink
Imperial Navy Heat Sink
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II
Tracking Enhancer II
Tracking Enhancer II

Pith C-Type X-Large Shield Booster
EM Ward Field II
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Large Micro Jump Drive
Heavy Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 800
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script
Shield Boost Amplifier II

Tachyon Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L
Tachyon Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L
Tachyon Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L
Tachyon Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency L
Drone Link Augmentor I
Auto Targeting System II

Large Energy Locus Coordinator II
Large Ancillary Current Router I
Large Energy Discharge Elutriation I

Curator II x2

IN Multi + Curators puts out about 1000 DPS at 50km. IN UV pushes around 700 to nearly 100km. Don't need much tank on it.

Paladin a.k.a. "Cannibal" (pretty fitting name with the BR SKIN, I'd say)

Highs
1 - Tachyon Beam Laser II
2 - Tachyon Beam Laser II
3 - Tachyon Beam Laser II
4 - Tachyon Beam Laser II
5 - Bastion Module I
6 - Small Tractor Beam II
7 - Drone Link Augmentor II
8 - Drone Link Augmentor II

Meds
1 - Gist X-Type Afterburner
2 - Tracking Computer II - Tracking Speed Script
3 - Tracking Computer II - Tracking Speed Script
4 - Tracking Computer II - Tracking Speed Script

Lows
1 - Core C-Type Large Armor Repairer
2 - Damage Control II
3 - Reactive Armor Hardener I
4 - Imperial Navy Heatsink
5 - Imperial Navy Heatsink
6 - Imperial Navy Heatsink
7 - Imperial Navy Heatsink

Rigs
1 - Large Capacitor Control Circuit II
2 - Large Capacitor Control Circuit II

Drones
5x Hobgoblin II
5x Hobgoblin II
5x Salvage Drone I

Ammo
Imperial Navy Multifrequency L (45.4Km - 56.7Km Optimal, 25Km - 31.3Km Falloff, 0.0351 rad/sec)
Imperial Navy X-Ray L (68.1Km - 85.1Km Optimal, 25Km - 31.3Km Falloff, 0.0351 rad/sec)
Gleam L (22.7Km - 28.4Km Optimal, 25Km - 31.3Km Falloff, 0.0438 rad/sec)

Gleam is in case you let a cruiser or the such get under INMF tracking, which should be rare so long as you're paying attention, and IN X-Ray is to push locking range without having to fiddle with scripts for the TC's. Pretty cap friendly so long as you are not running absolutely everything for longer than five and a half minutes and you have more than 7 minutes before going cap dead if you sit in Bastion and keep the guns and repper going without pause. Tank pushes out just under a solid 2800 hp per 11.3 seconds cold. Overheat the repper and it'll hit 3025 for 9 and a half seconds if **** hits the fan. Guns push 1083 at range cold up to 1274 hot with +5% imps (3 hardwirings in slot 7,9, and 10, with a couple cap imps for slot 6 and 8).

If you're okay with the extra isk luggage, you could drop one of the three TC's and up the other two to faction and maintain similar tracking (slightly less) and have a free mid to play with, though you'll have to simultaneously drop or offline the DLA's/Tractor Beam to get more than 31Tf, otherwise you'll be over budget in CPU. You could sacrafice omni tank and swap out the DC and RAH for active hardeners (as long as they're not T2 hardeners, they eat up 36Tf each) to squeeze out a little more CPU if you're really hurting for it, too. Hobs can be swapped for flavored scouts per mission, but they are generally good for most missions I run this in. If you can't tell, I generally hate having to swap mods and drones in between missions. I've been running a similar version of this, though with an X-type repper, for the Amarr Arch and it's so far been fantastic each run. Only mission 8 is spotty IF I aggro the rats and IF I don't swat the Diviners before they ruin my cap with neuts, and they will cross that 100Km+ in no time flat if you don't watch them. Generally, I let my drones handle the fighters and I kill everything else.

Not really cheap, but then again, it's a Marauder for Aura's sake. Might as well do like that Glitch Mob song and drive it like you stole it, right? Now, if we can just make Tachs sound like something with a little bit less flatulence.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

I am not sure what your experience has been with missions, but 2 mins for me has been plenty of time. Keep in mind, that 2 mins includes running everything including the Armor Repairer. At 100km next to nothing is actually hitting so the Repairer is usually off.

659 DPS. Keep in mind that most Apocalypse fits online, like Osmium, use Conflagration or faction Multi-frequency ammo, which have much more DPS, but less range.

This is a sniper fit, if you want to duke it out closer to the targets, the Navy Armageddon has a higher DPS with only 7x Mega Pulse Laser II with Scorch L.

With my skill level (plus 3% implants) i get about 750dps (670dps with two BC) from missiles and 160dps from drones - and with all skills at level 5 you can get about 1095 dps with that fit
And tanks about 360 - 450dps depending on what armor hardeners you fit.

Depending on mission and skills.. you can drop a BC for more tank.. or the DC for a Armor hardener.
Same goes for ammo and drones.
The fit does really great vs anything cruise size and up.. and can do more or less all missions without much problems.
Just needs alot skills to support the fit.. not that newbie friendly.

For blitzing I have a standard mach fit. works pretty much the same in every area of space. I used to run a shield fit, but I really like the MJD, ACs have a ton of fall off but in falloff you are losing damage so you can MJD on top of a group and get pretty much full damage. Many use the MJD defensively to snipe, I much prefer the offensive use. Especially when blitzing missions there are a few where you only have to kill one group to complete the mission and in a few cases that group is sitting 100km away from the warp in. Pirate invasion and The Assault are two examples.

Personally, if I had to choose being being over tanked and being able to kill faster, I would choose over tanked. I would much rather take a little longer to complete a mission than to risk losing my ship or at the very least having to warp out when it gets too hot.

That's part of the reason I like a sniper fit. At 100km out, almost nothing is actually hitting and thus I don't have to worry about my armor tanking. Not to mention I am well outside of the Tracking Distrupter and Neuting ranges.

I've been playing around with a Navy Armageddon fit for closer fights, but I cant seem to find a good balance between armor tanking and DPS. At least enough to feel really comfortable...

It sounds plausible enough tonight, but wait until tomorrow. Wait for the common sense of the morning.
