I don't fancy myself as a gas huffer, but I do so on occasion. So do cloud cause damage? I only ask because I don't fit with it in mind but this had my question my ways...

Just say NO to Dailies

My impression was they do at least in null but each ship present sets off its own set of explosions. Hence the more ships on site the harder it becomes to tank.

I do not mine gas though and this is probably the wrong forum to find people that do.

I ninja mine gas clouds in wormholes with a Venture. No gas cloud damage and I orbit the cloud at 500m.

The gas sites in nullsec have a chance of forming explosions that will damage your ship. Each type will deal a specific type of damage that you can tank against. A well fitted venture can easily tank it [passive shield or active shield/armor]. Keep in mind that you want to run your harvesters out of phase to prevent a double explosion and getting low on shield/armor.

To find out what the specific damages are, you can check out this link: https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Gas_Site_List. if it is not listed, just google it.

Note that you can find gas sites containing high-grade booster gas in lowsec [ .... Cytoserocin]. Although these clouds contain the same gas, they will NEVER explode.
