Ejection

"Compression fractures of vertebrae are a recurrent side effect of ejection."

"In the future it takes more time to eject while living in an ejection pod than it does in modern life."

As it stands, in Null Sec, pods are nearly pointless. They move too slow and are usually bubbled. They don't even eject quickly apparently.

Negatives:
- Ejection timer.
- Slow moving when in space.
- Not nullified
- Dialogue box that has no, "Do not display this again."
- No eject short-cut key.

Positives:
- Signature
- Align time.

Remove some of the negatives:

  • I would happily trade some align time for being nullified or having 1000 m/s top speed.
  • No ejection timer, you are already forfeiting your ship.
  • Add the option, "Do not display this dialogue again."

I would not make a contract with a firm to go into production on these if they were trying to sell them to me.
(Yes, I am inspired by a little salt at not being able to leave my ship fast but not at the loss itself as it was a pretty cheap pod.)

If you have the presence of mind to eject, you should not have to wait on an arbitrary timer made to serve you up as a victim. That removes some of the skill in playing.

Came here expecting an... let's say "unconventional", idea.
Read about nullified pods.

That's the only "negative" that I could see being removed.

Yeah, because ejecting a 4m long, 32,000kg pod is identical to propelling a ~1m, 160kg pilot and chair. Roll

First off, that link is 100% irrelevant to your suggestion. That chart refers to ejecting from an intact ship while under a logout timer. It has nothing to do with the pod as an escape vehicle when your ship is destroyed. Secondly, a pod is a last ditch chance at survival, not a get out of death free ticket.

So don't eject before your ship explodes. There is absolutely no reason at all to do so. I've won fights before where I had less than 10% structure left at the end. Simply go down fighting and the timer in that chart you linked does not apply.

You managed this in a solo logi while tackled by multiple T3s?
