Here is a mention of a platform called 'Kubera', "ORE’s newest and largest eight billion ton combined ice and ore harvesting and processing platform". At 8 billion ton, it's probably some form of station, most likely the first mention of the new mining platforms we'll get after Citadels. Just thinking that those are probably the newest structures coming after citadels.

Also, 8 billion ton = a lot, chunky momma that's going to be

What's that smell?

Ah, nevermind, just Rorqual's carcass decomposing.

I doubt it will be highsec available. And what that means? Not available without Reinforcement shenanigans. So, no CODE, they don't save low/null/wh.

See below. (I just like seeing my picture twice.)

I give it two weeks after introduction that CODE is still there trying to gank it.

3500x more massive than an avatar. That's pretty big.

I'm pretty sure the next structures will be the refining/manufacturing stations before the actual mining platforms.

They took back out Kubera Black Ops HAV's to make this?

So disappointing.

Hit the nail on the head.

The Kubera is the platform on which Gunjack is set. There aren't any plans to introduce huge mining platforms like this to EVE as something players can use, but they do exist in prime fiction.

Am I wrong or do citadels have some means to become an industrial oriented station, when you equip certain mods? Wouldnt that make them some kind of "Kuberas" when you add turrets?

It sounds like they need to improve the Prospect's Ore Yield and give it a High Slot to be able to fit a cloak and a probe launcher at the same time. So that it can more easily go into dangerous parts of space. To gather all the ORE they're going to lose out on when they lose this platform.

I suspect that still won't stop CODE trying to gank it, even if it doesn't exist.

Mr. Falcon/Devs,
It's been a long long long time in a galaxy far far far away since we saw any high end mining updates to eve.

Some of us Indy types joke (longingly) about our Hulk upgrade... that hauls like an Orca, compresses ore, and has 6 strip mining lasers... alas this is a pipe dream though pleasant to think on, while staring at lights and popping asteroids. Call it a Dread Hulk if you like)

A Kubera type ice/ore mobile mining harvester/processing platform would be just the sort of thing to generate intense interest in the industrial community. Don't dismiss the amount of content this would generate... and give us a path forward for Capital Indy mining... not hauling/compressing/processing though the Rorq is nice... but MINING on a Capital scale!!!

All cheer the Dread Hulk/Dread Mack!!
