Delay in map data.

I posted this in the complaint / fixes forum yet I did not receive any replies.

Why should we rely on the map data if the number of pilots and the number of kills is not current?

WHy even have this function? I lost a 60m ISK ship because I relied on the information it provided me.

Why is the updating of map information not near realtime? Why should we ever rely on it.

Remove this function or improve on it.

Working as intended. You're not supposed to have access to perfect intel just by pressing the F10 key.

I DO see your point. Hmm. I like it.
Consider myself corrected. Thanks!

Let me give you a secret.

This is a MMO, the 2nd M stands for multiplayer.

If you want accurate intel, go play with others, let them help you (for instance scouting)

Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

Help channel: Help chat - Reloaded

Public roams channels: RvB Ganked / Redemption Road / Spectre Fleet / Bombers bar / The Content Club

As explained: If you want accurate, real time intel, get some people to scout for you.

Otherwise, the map is especially delayed like that, to give the PVP / pirates a chance to be pirates. Realize that they have to organize themselves and move in/out / around the map specifically to trick the delayed response into giving a sense of security, and it's not that easy. They're basically skilled at PVP, so yeah they caught you fair and square.

I believe there was a time when we didn't have the map details at all. So this is an improvement; you get some data, you can get an indication that there MIGHT be something there, but the map isn't an i-win tool for you, nor is it an i-win for the pirates. They have to work at it, you have to work at it.

Seems fair.

Also realize that it works both ways. Perfectly accurate map data would make it extremely easy for a pirate to track you.
