Just saw latest PL's kindergarden propaganda vid. Looks good but have alreafy seen similar picture before and nothing new. Sorry filmmakers, i'm sure took a lot of efforts to bring that all together. But it is obvious that when you do actually play eve especially pvp'ing last thing you've keep eye shot on how beautifull and epic picture is. Your main focus is UI and comms, and only after the fight if you luvky and someone made a vid you could enjoy it. Maybe.

Simplifying my words, "actual" eve is far from eve on the vids. Sad

The video is on the front page of /r/gaming, which has 9.25 million subscribers.

Whether you like the video or not, it's doing more than most of us do to promote Eve and encourage people in. The discussion about it on reddit is pretty good.

Meh. It's not bad, but so many quick shots of being zoomed out 250km watching a bunch of lights coming from tiny specs probably isn't REALLY drawing a bunch of people into Eve. Needs longer shots, entering warp, exiting warp, enemy fleet warping in, zooms in the shot to give perspective, small ships flitting amongst bigger ones.

Not that I could do better, but my criticism isnt intended to be a rant or flame, just good old genuine constructive criticism.

What is wrong with Propaganda recruiting vids? That is basically the point of propaganda.

Would you rather join a corp/alliance filled with a bunch of butthurt crybabies that hide in station whenever there is a red in system, or a group that goes out and gets some?

And if they can inspire new players to come try out Eve. They did the game a world of good.

So Bravo. Not to say i wouldn't blow up PL if they ever became a ToO.

I was joking.

If I wasn't playing Eve already and kind of knew what was going on, I probably would not be very excited about this video or have any idea what I am looking at (except that I would probably think that flak on ships looks really weird)

It's not that the video is bad or anything, it's just that you don't usually pay attention to this kind of stuff, or at least I never do. In fact, I very rarely actually see exactly what the game looks like because I am usually zoomed out way too far or paying attention to numbers, words and buttons rather than any kind of picture.

Always has to be someone that has something to say, but doesn't really say much. OP, I'd learn to post before I advise someone how to make a video. No. Wait. You didn't offer any advice. You just said they did it wrong.

The problem, if any, is that for true newbies (and people who never played EVE) it's hard to see/recognise the scale of it all, all they see if blue empty space, some pixels and a bunch of lines between them. To me a true promotional EVE trailer would show the different pvp types from solo, to small group to large fleet. Doesn't have to be extensive about it, just show 20 seconds of solo with an up close camera, then zoom out a bit and show a small clip of small group PVP and then zoom out a LOT and show a massive fleet fight. That way people really get an idea of the options and scale combat in EVE can be.

Not complaining, just stating.

You're not sure? Invitations are usually decorative and festive. Nobody gets down and analyzes the receding hairlines and greying temples of the one having the birthday. It's balloons, ice cream and cake. To go so far as call it "propaganda" belies one of two things: a.) Someone thinks he's smarter than he really is, or b.) Someone's trying to appear smarter than he really is.

There won't be any, I've deleted all my chars (Gregor had 45 mil SP, 2 had more and a bunch of alts with some ~10 mil, some remain because they're on inactive accounts). This one is selling off all my assets which will then be dumped on a fresh alt which I'll use for a few weeks to find a suitable cause to dump it all on. I'm officially done with EVE.
