Anyone seen this market "feature"?

Situation: My market alt sold X units of an item at a fixed price in JITA, and I did not modify the sell price during the time in which the units were sold.

Out of the different transactions it took to sell the items, there seem to be three anomalies in which only one unit was sold, but when I retrieve the details of the transaction, the game suggests that I received more ISK than the posted sell price for the item.

Screenshot of said transaction history:

The anomalies in question are circled in yellow.

Any ideas?

I admit to being a market wookie (sic), so thank you for any explanations.

What likely happened was someone bought the item at a higher price listed by a different seller, but since your sell order was the lowest priced, your sell order was fulfilled (and always would be if it is the lowest priced), and you get to keep the difference too.

If your order is the cheapest, it will always be filled first. It can be filled at a higher price, however. So for instance, if the purchaser did not first sort by price, and selected a higher-priced sell order to purchase from, they will purchase the item at that price, but still from you.

PS: This works the other way around as well. I had the highest buy order for Helioses in a station once and got a bunch of them for 2M each. Big smile

Thank you; I understand the lowest price requirement, but did not anticipate that people would try to buy higher than the lowest offered sell order.

AND

I did not know I would get to keep the difference.

Perhaps this was a person not in station, but within the region.

This happens a lot even intentionally. Say you have 5 items at whatever price but the buyer wants 10 and the next buy order above you is a sell order for 20 you can just buy that order instead so you get all 10 in one shot rather than buying 5 and then buying 5 again.

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

Yes it happens the other way too. I regularly get freighters, plex, marauders, etc for 100m each. Don't forget to double check your price before selling (or not, I can use the extra isk!). The big mistakes involve not having enough numbers in a price, mistaking 6's and 9's and 9's and 8's.

Also, if someone wants to but say 1000 units, and doesn't want to buy the top 16 sell orders, he can pay the price for the highest order and collect all 16 of those orders at once.

You mean every time I've tried to **** a .01 isker by buying something priced a bit more, I actually bought from the person I didn't want to pay AND gave him extra money?

If you purchased from another order in the same station, that's exactly what happened. Can't imagine why you, as a consumer, would particularly care how much time any individual seller spends dicking around with their orders, though.

Well, if you had checked your transactions you might have noticed it sooner.

I think I'll go now and set some shuttle sell orders for 1billion.

The default ordering of the market is not by price.
