Brightness slider doesn't help with the background nebulae problem

I had high hopes that the brightness slider would alleviate the problem of the background nebulae burning out my retinas. It seems however, to adjust the global brightness such that the background nebulae are slightly less annoying while leaving the foreground elements overly dark. Can we get an option to dim (or disable!) only the background nebulae while leaving the ambient brightness alone? I had my client fail to load the nebulae one time and it was blissful. I would pay money to get that back.

Good luck. The nebulae are one of those "visual elements" that "enhance the look and feel of EVE". In other words "We put a lot of work into this even though you didn't want it, so you're going to have it!". Just like ship icons, just like the new map, just like the new camera is becoming. :(

BTW I'd pay money to be able to remove all the nebulae too. I am constantly turning my camera to find that rare dark area of "empty space" so I can see my modules properly. When I first started playing EVE, space was black. I miss that.

CCP approaches problems in one of two ways: nudge or cludge

Heh yeah, Grimdark everywhere except the cold darkness of space. Then it's Las Vegas strip.

CCP should release some goggles that tune out the backgrounds and charge a ton for them. I'd be first in line.

And whenever you are flying in red areas of space, its a huge pain for people that are color blind to watch the overview when you get red boxed (Not sure how painful it is for people who are not colorblind).

Lowering the average to make you look better since 2012.
