It would be nice to mine alone, sometimes

It thought it would be nice if small clusters of mineable asteroids would show up in systems but require a ship to scan down.

The current mining anomalies used to require scanning. Now they don't.

Honestly I like it better this way. Gravimetric sites were a constant pain for people looking for exploration content and I could count on one hand the number of times I saw miners in them (which makes sense as miners rarely carry probes....)

A small number of scannable mining sites might be ok I suppose but they would have to be worthwhile enough to probe then go back for a mining ship then mine out without them being so damn good that everyone flocks to them at the exclusion of everything else. Though admittedly the Venture/Prospect make the idea somewhat more appealing.

Still. I'd rather not have to deal with probing down the damn things when I'm looking for actual content.

Edit: and as for mining alone? I hear lowsec is nice this time of year. Take a Venture or two out and find a nice quiet system with higher value ore.

Just get away from the trade hubs. I run across lots of empty highsec systems in my travels through highsec.

What Iain Cariaba wrote. Especially in Amarr and Minmatar space, there are loads of systems that are largely deserted, even some with fairly good infrastructure. And then there are some Relic and Data sites which also contain nice numbers of asteroids with feasible ore yields.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

Loads of missions have roid pockets.

Even the level 1 security ones which you could do in the barge lol

Some pockets of Amarr space tend to be pretty empty even at peak hours. Amarr is typically less crowded per system than other Expire territories.

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

And yet back in those days I was in a corp that ALWAYS scanned every system in our local area for these and mined them because most of them contained ores that are normally restricted to low and nul sec.

You should mine in Uedama, the belts there have no mining barges and exhumers. Lol

EvE-Mail me if you need anything.

I was in low sec. So yeah. No one was using them.

In high, sure, I imagine they were a bit more popular.

Niarja has better ore though...

Lowering the average to make you look better since 2012.
