ok aparantly i have heard that it is possable to mine moon goo in low sec, can someone please confirm this for me as i had always been under the impression that you could only moon mine in Null sec,

also if it is indeed true, is it even worth it.?

what would be the rough avarage ISK Per month for a low sec moon mining POS?

you can mine in low sec. good luck finding a good moon that isn't taken. be prepared to defend a good moon if you manage to find one.

Moons are mineable in .3 systems and below.

The best ones are in Null, and the Low Sec ones are not worth the trouble. Must set up POS and all that.

You will love the 24 hour online procedure to. lol

Unless you are in a Medium Sized Corp for getting the Mining POS set up and maintained, it's a bad idea.

Yes, you can harvest moongoo from any moon that is in 0.3 space or less. There's some good moons out there in low as well.
( I know of a dysprosium one nearby.... )
Ofcourse these are all quite taken as well though if you look hard enough you might find a moon that is profitable and not taken.
It's a needle in a haystack though.

Does railgun ammunition come in Hollow Point?

Typically I get into moon harvesting in Low Sec in systems where I am going to be putting a POS up anyway for whatever reason. Then I scan down the moons and put the POS at the best one material wise. It isn't going to make me rich but it does help offset the fuel costs associated with the POS.

Most of the moons that you can mine and that aren't taken are pretty much useless. The output from them wont even cover the price of the POS fuel. So unless you plan to use the POS for something else as well (production, reactions, copying, invention, etc) then it is pretty pointless to do.

As DigDoug says, if you are going to use the POS for something else then find a free moon that will give you something and help offset your fuel costs.

Don't expect to make any money off a moon in lowsec, and if you do find a valuable moon that is free, if you drop a POS either be prepared to lose it or fight for it.
