DED escalations (5+)

Hello,

After doing some missions and exploration I want to try out the DED sites and escalations.

Since I have no experience at all with this part of the game, I was wondering if a Scorpion Navy Issue is a good ship to start running the DED sites. I got 2 Angel's Red Light District notifications quite quickly. The SNI is the only good ship I have for pvE currently. Have some money, but lack the skills to fly a Tengu or a Gila, which seem to be really popular for this activity.

So, basically, I am asking for your recommendations on what to train and what ship(s) should I aim for in order to have fun and run them fast :) Also, if it is a good idea to risk my SNI being blown up (if there is such a risk) in my first experience in that Red Light District :)

Thanks.

Me personally, i run them in a rattlesnake. But i think any well fit battleship shouldn't have a problem (if you lack the skills for a gila or tech3).

There are no scrams in this site, so you can warp away any time.

Thank you very much for your answer. I did try it with my SNI, struggled a bit, but maybe it was due to wrong fitting...

Anyway, so Gila or T3 cruiser is the way to go for the escalations (although, for me, Ashimmu is the best looking :P).

well honestly tengu or gila are always said to be used but that's only for one reason and thats travel (not getting caught and warping fast etc). Inside the site a BS will be better for clearing since it has more dps more tank greater range and so on, the SNI i presume struggled because there are a lot of frigs on the first room so you have to adjust for dmg application however if properly skilled it should clear the site faster than a gila or tengu, my choice would be a raven navy if it's only a few jumps over and a gila for bigger distances.

Best of all ? get a machariel, if you are in blue territory or hs that's the best ship for it, moves like a cruiser and warps like one but has dmg and tank of a Battleship ( which it is, although i forget it at times Blink)

Hmm, yes, a Machariel would be very nice :)

On the other hand, reading your posts, I was considering this: train Gila first and then move towards Tengu, since they share quite a few of the needed skills and so invest the same time (more or less) in 2 ships instead of a single one (Machariel)? Also, isn't a Gila/Tengu more... versatile than a Machariel? And cost-related I think that Machariel would be the most expensive of them all?

Any information and if you can link some nice fits for those ships would be be very much appreciated, in order to make an idea about various things :)

Thanks!

Personally the issue is other player more than the sites themselves.

Unless you are getting these sites as escalations from HS anoms they will always be in low sec (Sounds like you are running HS anoms if you are getting notifications) . A PVE battleship is a big fat target for Low Sec pirates.

Hacs, T3s or Pirate cruisers are the way to go.

PS, the Angel 6/10 is a pain . They almost always end up in Null sec ( 2 part sites) and the overseer is a pain.
