I think your memory might be suffering from nostalgia sir.

The peak numbers over the years are easy to see:

http://eve-offline.net/?server=tranquility

The TQ all time record is 65,303 set in 2013.

CODE don't violate the TOS just by shooting stuff and CCP have tried to validate the assumption that ganking drives people away from the game. They failed. Whether anyone agrees with how they did it or the results, CCP have at least done more than the rest of us to check that the assumptions about ganking are reasonable.

I must have a different definition of trolling than exists on this forum.

A troll presents an argument in bad faith, knowing its fallacies and weaknesses, and when to switch tactics. Fundamentally, a troll says something it doesn't believe.

By definition, then, a troll can't be reasoned with-- but if a good troll, will appear to be open to reasonable discourse for as long as possible, as a charade. The time you spend formulating reasonable arguments = teh lulz.

Below is what a troll is as far as these forums are concerned. No point arguing what the definition of a troll is as far as the forums are concerned, because CCP has done it for you.

5. Trolling is prohibited.

Trolling is a defined as a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting other players in an attempt to incite retaliation or an emotional response. Posts of this nature are disruptive, often abusive, and do not contribute to the sense of community that CCP promote

The troll wins as soon as you respond.
The content is irrelevant.

Don't make the same mistake as all these daft people out there who believe they can "teach" someone
or "show them they're a fool". These are the WORST of all people, much worse than any troll out there,
because it's THEM who make the trolls stick around.

People like Jenn aSide, Kaarous, everyone who feeds Lucas Kell ... I'd ban them all in an instant.

And then you can make new content as in, new career opportunities more ships more stations, more zones for high, low, null etc.. Or you an ignore reality and continue to not produce new content and let harassment go on and watch the population drop even lower. I figure at about 5-10k you'll realize the problem and then it'll be too late. oh well.

CCP I will fix your game for you, in just a few simple steps..

Step 1. Ban all members of The New Order logistics and Code alliance

Step 2. Make real stations, Create inner areas that are massive allow us to not only walk around the stations but do trading inside of them, add bounty boards etc.. Allow us to sit back and relax and be social with fellow gamer's " face to face " so to speak by giving us true stations that we can do many different things in.

Step 3. Expand the universe add new areas of High, Low, Null and w-space, and when I say new areas I don't mean 4 new Regions per security type I mean 20+ add a lot so we have more new areas to explore.

Step 4. This is an extension of number 3 add new forms of space with an entirely new security status, with new dangers etc..
Where are our super novas, our black holes?

Why has there been no contact with earth, you easily add earth into the story line and create a mega war between them and all our current factions on the pve side which would inevitably lead to more pvp as well.

You could also then take all our current factions and add new ones such as separatists that aren't happy with their governments that break off from them and forum a new faction made up of people from all the current ones again this adds more pvp and more pve.

Why haven't we gotten any truly new and unique career options yet, we need more things to do in game, Different things, part of the problem all mmorpgs face is stagnation if you continue to provide the same content re-branded with a new name and a few graphical tweaks with some ship tweaks of course people will get bored.

How could you expect us not too you haven't added any thing that's actually new in far too long.

Step 5. Take planets and add a map too them allow player run corporations to take control of a planet and build structures on them, let us walk around them. Add in new mini games for people to play.. But more importantly add in an entirely new system of warfare.

Planetary annihilation, we could fight over planets and the structures on them from our ships in space, using bombs missiles, lasers etc... To destroy the current structures, and the assets including pilots contained with them but it couldn't be that simply you'd have to add in land based defensive weapons and shields.

And in doing so you could then add in a brand new arsenal of weapons, shields, scanners and so on specifically for planetary warfare.

Such as but not limited too the following

. Scanners to detect offensive/defensive planetary objects

. Weapons to attack the planetary objects, they would all be different things designed to penetrate shields, destroy land based turrets, and most importantly land based structures. All of which would naturally require new skill training..

. New careers that area geared for constructing these planetary Objects.

. But wait there is more! Along with this new technology comes new materials from new sources, new " Gathering " careers can come as well, Hey whats that red gaseous cloud in the distance, i'm not sure lets go scan it and find out. Well I'll be damned that's the new " Space Gas " that all the scientists are talking about.. Hey lets harvest that using the this newly invented device so that we can transform it into some thing else... ( I can't do all the work for you, you'll have to figure some things out )

CCP let me remind you that because of the type of game this is you have the ability to provide us with an endless amount of content. We are entering an age when people will finally start getting into space, mining asteroids and much much more you need to capitalize on this now before some one else does, You could actually keep this game running indefinitely if you started producing new content.

The age of fantasy Mmorpgs with elves and dwarfs and goblins etc.. is over the time for games such as eve is here, make it work don't disappoint your fan base.

you've a pretty bad memory. max numbers: 65,303 (2013-05-05 19:09:04)

by your imagination we've dropped 60k players,, which we have not. but this won't change the mindset you've developed towards PVP

there is new career opportunities every day, CCP is giving us new ships and new stations more space (new player owned gates) i've no idea what the hell you are going on about.
It's not harassment, it's EVE online. wow,, who have you been listening too? they warped your mind. the second you undock in EVE you agree to PVP.
if someone is naughty in high sec they get punished for it.

I'm not even going to begin to mention the other reasons for the drop in numbers, it's been said in this shitehawk thread more than it was needed. why is this thread of shite still running anyway. Roll

You mean burned out stars that first expand violently and then collapse in on themselves in a dark pit that crushes anything that comes near them ?

We call them bittervets and you can find them right here on the forum.

On a serious note:
- I would love to open that door in my CQ and get a drink or two at a local bar.
- I still have hopes that project Legion (Dust514 for PC) is being worked on despite lack of news on the subject.
....

For now I hope that Valkyrie becomes a success and that it encourages CCP to continue defying challenges.

Echoing others, this is complete and utter nonsense.

If you want to actually deal with CODE., you have to deal with it at the source, and that means actually enabling good antagonist game play outside of Hi Sec. The kids have no where to play thanks to the extreme safety of nullsec, so of course they will come to the last place you can actually get on the same grid with something to shoot before it docks up. That being said, they generally are not doing anything wrong, it is within game mechanics to operate as they do, but if you find their behaviors excessive, the real thing to blame is null mechanics. The highest Isk killed/hour is available in High Sec; this is a problem with the game.

In Hi Sec, the hulk doesn't warp out. In null sec, the hulk warps out when you are 5 jumps away.

Ban all New Order logistics members admiral? Past and present? Or am I safe?

3 losses to NOL (CODE.'s newbie corp) in 4 days? I doubt you'll get much sympathy here.

There once was a ganker named tisi

A stunningly beautiful missy

To gank a gross miner

There is nothing finer, cept when they get all pissy
