Merry X-mas, Capsuleers!
I found topic with subject but it locked so I'll open new.

I was sure that nearest storyline agent selected after complete 16th mission until now.
Yesterday at night I did mission with an alt from same agent and both got offers from different storyline agents at same time. One from 3 jumps away, another from 4 jumps away.

How it really works?

It's usually only one, so kudos on snagging two!

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

It's suppose to be based on proximity to the location of the regular agent you hit your 16th complete mission with, "closest to" being the first in line. Either that or the agent selected is being based on location of the player char when the storyline agent is actually triggered, since the common delay between turn-in for the 16th and when you actually get a notifier from the storyline agent is lengthy enough to easily travel several jumps after turning said mission in. I can't remember for the life of me which rule Eve uses. Pretty odd that you got offers from two storyline agents rather than offers from the closer of the two.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Or just the agent finder in game should suffice.

Confused, these links on story line missions and agents will help you sort it all out.
I could type it here but why bother when these do it better than I could.

Guys, pardon! Oops
I just checked again. Both agents in 4 jumps away. But still! Smile
I finished caldari epic arc with 2 chars. Both completed at same agent in Wuos system then logged off (bed time). After 9 hours both chars logged in and got notification. One storyline agent in Airaken system, another storyline agent in Ishisomo system.
I checked distances. Airaken system is close to Wuos system :)

When you complete your 16th regular mission, the nearest storyline agent offers you a mission. If there are 2 or more equidistant agents, one is picked randomly. There is also a delay before the storyline agent notices, so as Sobaan said, you might do a 16th mission, then wander off, then be told to turn around and come back to the storyline agent near your last regular agent.

Yeah that kinda sux when you just jump cloned to null or some such about 2 minutes before you get the offer.

The only thing it cares about is distance calculated as follows:

1) Storyline agent in same station
2) Storyline agent in same system
3) Storyline agent closest number of jumps away - if the latter is a tie you may get a degree of randomness as seen above.

Did you maybe run agents from different levels? I once mixed mission-running like this and sometimes, after finishing the 16th mission for several different levels at the same time, I got offers from more then one storyline-agent, too.

No. 1 is incorrect. You can get a storyline offer from an agent in a different station in system, even if you have one in your current station.
