That's ok. You aren't really an Eve player anyway. Nothing of value will be lost.

"Meh, I don't want you a customer" is a funny idea but nobody who makes a living by selling his brain's work can really afford it.

Its the same as

"i did not want that ship anyway..."

You might be an alt. Not everyone here is. If you don't know who VV is for example then you probably don't know much about this game.

I am an alt, VV is also an alt. I wasn't directly "attacking" VV on this, just stating that it's a quite busy thread.

2006 - 15k

2011 - 2014 : 35k

2015 - 20k

So, 2006, 1 account
2011 - 2014, 1 account and 1 PLEXed alt account = x2 = 30k
17.5k = 35k

2015 - 1 account (maybe not PLExed)

Most players are still low SP.

Average skillpoints: 31,858,905
Total skills: 32,037,270
Average skills: 118
Average age: 6y 103d

Now, my age is by far below 6 years,
not even half of that in game time.

Also, my top skill points is around 20m SP.
My average SP is around 10m SP or less.

Those average stats are above the EVE Online averages as well.
I am sure that the average players are of less Skill points.
I saw a graph of this a while back, and I can't find it again.

EVE became p2w the moment they added PLEX.

I will never understand why people label a game "p2w" if you can buy items with cash. But blindly ignore one that allows you to buy an ingame item with real money that can then be sold for ingame currency, which then buys items.

Yep.

The game is qualitatively different because,

  • "Don't undock in what you can't afford to lose."

became,

  • "Don't undock in what your credit card can't replace."

Last I checked you're not winning ...
... when you replace your losses with your credit card.

But hey, if that's pay2win for you ...

Or hey, what about all these people who buy expensive chars, battleships and officermods ...
... yeah their killboards scream winning!

LOL you people are hilarious! :D

Well, my RL trade involves a niche product and certainly we don't turn away customers who require other services from us, specially if they're repeating customers. vºv

Well, you would not start up a whole new production for a single small customer, I am pretty sure. I mean you are the only person IIRC I have seen who like your "Game card" PVE idea. I fully understand why CCP would not invest in developing something one person wants. Neither would your company invest in a new machine for one small customer, if you have to be honest vºv

You guys... seems 2016 will be a good year for EVE. Many people and old players are returning.

2015 was quite bad with a huge decline, hence this thread. But DOOM seems to have taken a break for now.

And this is amazing:

I classify any game that offers players the legitimate way to purchase [with real money] an ingame item that can be sold for ingame currency as Pay 2 Win.

That's extremely misleading and inaccurate, though!

No amount of isk turns you into a winner in EVE,
when you have no understanding of the game whatsoever.

Hell, even if you know better, you still don't turn into a winner automatically.

In that regard I do not mind PLEX at all ...
... because reality shows that the game isn't pay2win at all.

Why would you delibaretly be inaccurate?

Then, by your definition, there is no such thing as a "Pay 2 Win" game.

...unless there's a game out there that is selling 'Invulnerability' in their cash shops; not just gear that makes you nearly unkillable. Because, hey, it doesn't mean you're going to win all the time. -- Right?

will you consider it pay 2 win once you can buy skill points with isk? ... rich people could just plex and buy 200 million sp in 30 minutes of creating a new character.

I can't tell, because I haven't really looked into them,
though afair there's a cap that makes it ludicrously expensive after a certain amount of SP.

If that matters ... I don't know.

Personally, I'd be happy to move all my gathered SP to a different char.
The only thing I'd "win" then is the fact that I don't have to waste time to skill up a new one.

Though if I just look from it from what we already have, then no, it's not pay2win.
Why? Because the rich player already has enough ISK to buy himself any char he wants anyway.

And that means there's no difference whatsoever.

Any better examples?
