Yeah I remember those days.

It was kind of scary during burn Jita when you were stuck at the gate mashing the button to enter over and over again.

That was scary even when Burn Jita wasn't going on!

I miss the whine threads in GD every couple of weeks when someone would lose a Freighter in Perimeter stuck on the Jita gate and they would complain about not receiving a warning before reaching the gate.

All those lovely bots.... You did know they were not humans right, right?

Oh you didn't know.

How terribly sad for you

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

How is it any different today? Besides the names of the bots being less creative and there being half as many as before in local?

If you listen to all the forum posts since 2003, you would know that Eve has been dying since it was created.Roll

It has, and will continue to fluctuate during the year, and spike when something hits mainstream media that concerns Eve Online, like B-R. Pay no mind to the "Repent now, the end is near" talk..

There hasn't been any spikes for nearly 3 years now. The next dip should be in the summer and we could be seeing 20k prime-time peaks next year this time. After that its a major downhill, the sandbox cant work with such low numbers. Unless, citadels save the day but I highly doubt it given CCPs recent track record.

Free to play in 2017 is my prediction.

I would rather pay a subscription for development toward a game I enjoy than not pay a subscription and watch them market micro-transactions as their only way to capitalize on their initial investment, turning it in to a pay-to-win that would eventually avert players who want to play to win. That is if it makes it that far with the astronomical amount of bots that would invade New Eden. Free to Play would destroy this game, and I really believe that.

Micro-transactions door were opened years ago and have been embraced with open arms. You don't know our playerbase anymore.

I am as guilty as any, I have hundreds of ship skins. I paid for them in-game but it still supported someone paying to get ahead with real money.

We slowly let CCP introduce things toxic to this game, Plex, Skins, Multi-Train. Now we are numb to SP swapping, SP buying, ship and module purchasing, all things coming in the future I promise.

So whether we keep the sub model or go f2p, micro-transactions are going to make this game look like Farmville over the next couple years. And we did it to ourselves.

The lengthy posts against the SP swapping idea tell us people are not numb to the idea.

Multi-train was already being done, and actually is more expensive than training on a separate account then transferring the character with 2 plex.
Skins give no in game advantage.
Plex actually help the game by combating gold selling which would have existed far more without plex and none of the money would have gone to CCP.

So none of the three things you have listed as already in game have anything in common with SP swapping/buying or ship buying directly with credit cards.

It is a process. And the introduction of ideas by CCP slowly, then eventually is common history.

Some would argue that Plex does the exact opposite of stemming the tide of isk selling because it gives people avenues to easily make money off this game through illegal processes. We can't get into depth without ISD jumping in.

And if you cant see how someone buying skin, that is then given isk for it isn't an advantage then I can't help you very much understand this game. Is it pay to win? nope. But it does give people a leg up and makes people appreciate the grind for assets less. (creating more instant gratification players).

Everything I have listed was a gateway to the eventuality that CCP will have a website where you can paypal your way into a nice shiny Rattlesnake, or Nyx, or whatever with a click of a button.

Tell that to BioWare.

Then ask them what they're doing about all the new free accounts that get made every day for the express purpose of spamming players in SWTOR with links to goldbuying websites.

Nonsense, you're just trying to use faulty logic again. We've always been FINE with Micro transactions as long as it's cosmetics and done in a reasonable manner. In fact we've been trying to encourage CCP to do more of it and to do it in a smarter and better focussed way. We've NEVER stated we'd be ok with P2W or P2A in fact we rallied against it numerous times.

You're just trying to piggyback onto the "see, we're ok with MT" to try and push the "I want P2A".

This a thousand times. Can't really elaborate more than this. MTs are fine. Pay-to-win is not.

I can't elaborate on your failure to understand simple concepts.

But I can elaborate that in no way, shape or form is the community "FINE" with microtransactions. It was a slowly introduced feature that CCP continues to expand on, we have fought them every step of the way but they were smart enough to slowly put them in so the rage was minimal.

You do not get to be the voice of the people, just because you think you are more important than everyone else.
