Firstly,

This isn't a topic about balance, what we "need", roles they fill, or any of the standard "you can't have a ship because I said so" comments.

This thread is simply to throw around what ships we'd like to see/fly.

1 rule... Let's keep this realistic. A doomsday dread that destroys an entire system is not going to draw anyone's attention.



My ship I would like to see is a dedicated drone boat.
No guns, no need for guns, no fittings for guns or launchers.

Bonuses - Pirate boat?

Race 1 battleship
% drone control range per level
% resists per level

Race 2 battleship
% fighter drone damage per level
% rep/boost amount

Role bonuses
Can fit bastion
% bonus fighter drone tracking and velocity (intended for use against sub-caps)
(insert other bonuses here if needed)

3-8-8 high/mid/low slot layout. 3 rigs

intent is around 1k to 1.1k dps with all skills 5 and 5 fighters fielded, with 4 t2 drone damage mods. (this may over rule the damage bonus if the fighter drone damage gets too high)
has enough drone bay to fit 6 fighters, or 5 fighters and a slew of other drones.
Gets bonus to control range and tracking with all drones, but damage bonus only applies to fighters.

lol, yeah, but it's not realistic as something we could possibly introduce into the game.

And I'd like them to unflip the avatars in the creation/modification stage.

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......

It was an entry for an old contest to design new EVE ships. There were a lot of cool designs, the winning design, Tornado, made it into the game.

Keeping it realistic, I'd like to see system suns that dimmed or grew brighter with distance. The current suns are immersion breakers and call for suspension of disbelief each time you're pretending to warp 100 AU and pass by those lightbubls in a small room.

I would like a dedicated stealth fighter. Not a bomber or scanner. A Frigate sized ship that can use a cov ops cloak and be armed for lazers or projectile weapons. Something that could lock whilst cloaked. High dps but paper tank to be used for hit and run tactics against other frigates and destroyers. Cruisers would be a tough call and anything beyond would require multiple (and expensive) stealth fighters. This though would prob break faction warfare so may have to be banned from the sites in faction warfare.

an SOE carrier would be cool, but it likely would get stuck in the realm of the upcoming logistics capitals

This is on it's way, according to devs.

Also, fun fact...the Tornado was originally suppose to be a Marauder-like (4 guns, x2 volley) Tech3 Battleship close to being slightly taller than the 'Pest and could give chase to a Macharial when it was still just art.
