I here about people managing to not go broke using destroyers and frigate fleets.

Beyond that i cant find any hard information.

So the way to beat the most powerful ships in EVE are to oppose them with ships that have the absolutely smallest signature possible? I guess the Amarr Navy needs to rethink their strategy...

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

From they way i understand it.

Its sacrificial ships. You going to lose at least one ship for every drifter killed. So your looking to use the cheapest ships possible.

That's an incredibly stupid setup (not your description of it, but the fact that they've been designed this way).

I believe I remember reading that one group was sig tanking them. But yeah I think the "normal" way of doing them is sacrificial lambs. Along with the standard sacrifice a virgin before starting of course.

No it's not. It is simply a different form of PvE. Not everything should be capable of being min/max'd and beaten without loss. Even through the most lopsided of real life combats there is always loss on both sides.

loss is one thing, a 700k damage doomsday that every drifter fires once its overshield goes down seems a bit silly. It used to always hit, but now CCP has added tracking to this and as drifters move rather fast it has a pretty good chance at missing small targets.

being able to run sansha incursions with faction/deadspace and even officer gear in every slot is pretty freaking silly, but vs drifters with their super magic gun that forces 1 for 1 trades is pretty silly too. That those super magic guns now often miss small targets is pretty silly too. just running a t3d fleet and avoiding taking damage isn't an interesting choice either.

The Drifters are a great example of an idea completely squandered.
