Mining Turret Volume Questions

First of all, Happy Holidays to all!

I'm currently Mining Lvl IV and will be Lvl V in 15 hours. I have a Procurer with a Strip Miner I which at my current skill level renders a Mining Amount of 1863m3 per cycle.

A Strip Miner I in the Market shows a Mining Amount 540m3 per cycle. I'm guessing that figure does not account for one's skill level in Mining?

What is really confusing is a Modulated Strip Miner II shows a Mining Amount of 360m3 and a Modulated Deep Core Strip Miner II shows 250m3.

How can this be?

I'm not reading these amounts correctly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You need to take in account the bonus from mining, astrology, and mining crystals those two uses. Also the deep core miners are meant for meroxit.

So for general mining, the Strip Miner I is the best I'll have?

With crystals strip miner 2 is best, but without crystals then yes, t1 is much better. Though it honestly doesn't take that long to train into most crystals, so if you plan on being a miner long term I'd say to go ahead and train them up.

Use the mining tab in the app linked in my signature to see and compare different m3 for each ore depending on your skills.

T2 miner with T1 crystal is like 8% better than T1 miner, and T2 miner with T2 crystals is like 8% better than with T1 crystals.
Roughly, when i checked.
You MUST use crystals if you use T2 miners or they are near useless.

Don't forget — while 5% implant cost quite some grind, 3% implant cost just 18 millions and you'll get the money back in 40 hours when mining on unboosted procurer. It also goes in 10th slot, competing only with mindlinks and large guns.

First hit with:

Base yield for all the modules, with and without crystals:
Strip Miner I vs Strip Miner II w/ crystals

EDIT: Note that Mercoxit cannot be harvested as efficiently as the other ores [requires Deep Core modules] , so when comparing price per m3 (click on arrowheads to sort) to decide what is best to mine, be aware you need to normalize the Mercoxit price by multiplying it by 0.546

EDIT: Note that all Mining Barges and Exhumers effectively have 3 strip miners, regardless of how many they can fit. Hull yield bonuses vary though, as well as MLU fitting capabilities.
